We have two embryo options available - the first one is by premium Hanoverian stallion Vivaldos (Vivaldi x Desperados x Brentano II). Talk about talent and super rideability in these lines! Vivaldos is very popular in Europe and it is easy to see why with the quality of foals he has produced so far.

Serena is from one of our foundation ridden mares Iridium (Rhodium x Grannus II) and has begun her under saddle career. She is a FULL sister to Borderview Sapporo with Harvey Besley (also pictured), who recently scored over 86% winning his 5YO Young Horse debut amongst stiff competition. This line has shown to have a super work ethic, three great paces, and a strong hind leg. We love this line so much we have retained Serena and her half sister by San Remo. Serena is a manageable size of 16.1h.

Morocco (by Morricone) is just 4yo and is going fabulously for Fi who has done a great job with him. Our mare MacArthur Jolie Coeur has produced many horses of riding age already, with three currently ridden successfully and loved by AORs. Forte is sure to follow his successful siblings!

UTRILLO VD HEFFINCK remains one of the best sons of CLINTON.
The magnificent grey UTRILLO VD HEFFINCK (Clinton x Heartbreaker x Randel Z) was a successful winner in CSI and CSIO for Belgium (UTRILLO Z) and France.
His offspring, initially in Belgium and later in France, are excellent, with numerous international winners.
The French “Bible” of stallions describes this ¾ brother of Cornet Obolenski as “A beautiful horse with a lot of presence, very serious in his conformation, boasting a beautiful topline. Easy to cross, he is better suited for no too compact but blooded mares. He enhances both the conformation and the style over jumps”.
The semen of this ¾ brother of Cornet Obolenski is available at New Normandy Farm through LFG contracts and generous doses.

The year has only just started and the first online auction of sport horses is already a wrap. The DSP breed society hosted one on 28 December till 2 January 2024 and Giorgio became the price highlight.

Glenara Question x Bentley Van De Heffink

This may not seem like a commercial mating but to me it is a very exciting pedigree mating in hopes to produce a genetically potent broodmare for the future.
I have become very interested in pedigrees and genetics over the past few years and have been very lucky to learn from Paula Mcrae, one of the most knowledgeable in the world when it comes to Warmblood pedigrees and mating strategies. Pedigree theory is a popular field for Thoroughbred breeding and has been for many years. It is much easier to gather data and statistics for Thoroughbreds though, as there is generally one registry per country and information can be easily compiled. For Warmbloods, however, there is little to no data, probably because it is very hard to gather due to the numerous different breeds and registries. It is even hard to find the number of, or a list of all the Grand Prix offspring of a Dressage stallion, something you would think should be very readily available (and no, Horsetelex is not a comprehensive database).

Back to this mating, the main focus of which is concentrating superior female lines. Many breeders will go on that the mares are the most important, and most influential, etc, but how many breeders are then trying to concentrate marelines in their stock then, if they are so important?
The answer is not many. Why? Because it is hard. Especially in countries outside Europe, because our marelines here are not found in many stallion lines, unless we have imported mares. Or perhaps breeders do not realise or understand the potential benefits.

When I saw my mare Question for sale I could not pass her up due to her mareline and her dam's production record. Her dam, Quintana van den Bosrand, can definitely be defined as a superior mare. She has produced three grand prix stallions, two 1.60 international stallions, which have also gone on to produce GP horses as succesful sires.
In this mating with Bentley, we can see that Dinette van de Heffink is found on the bottom damline of Question as well as the bottom damline of Bentley. Then on the damline of Bentley's sire we have a 3/4 sister to J'aime Van De Heffink, on the bottom damline of Question. The mare Winette van de Heffink is present on this damline as well and is repeated 3x in this mating through two different daughters.
To have this strong female influence coming from three different parts of the pedigree including the bottom damline (the direct path for mDNA) is very exciting for me.
There are other nice features of this mating but the strong female influence seen in it is very hard to achieve. It may not be a theory for everyone, and that is fine, But as a breeder I am willing to take risks and do something a bit different to try to enhance the genetic quality and potency of my marelines.
If you start actively looking at the pedigrees of top sport horses, it becomes increasingly evident how important pedigree structure and the genetics are. When you start looking at hundreds of horses (yes, it becomes an obsession! Oh, that horse look amazing, or just won a GP, what's its pedigree? And not just the first three generations, looking back to up to 9 or more!) the importance of creating a strength in the pedigree, and the interaction of the sire and dams pedigrees becomes clearer.

⬇️ For those looking for the ever-elusive combination of super movement + temperament ⬇️

Introducing our Fürstbischof x Florestan x Donnerhall x Rubinstein c**t.
(Name pending!)

I will go on about his breeding as this is a special genetic combination to highlight the strengths of both sides of the pedigree- and it has clearly worked! It may not be a fashionable mating, but it is appearing to be a very functional mating- which was my goal.

The sire Furstbischof is by Fürst Romancier (Fuerst Heinrich x Romancier). Fürst Romancier has already produced several licensed sons and very successful sporthorses. In Fürstbischof, Fürst Romancier meets with Plaisir d’Amour - damsire of San Amour among other breeding highlights. Furthermore, this stallion goes back to the damline of Daffy-Toban (a highly influential Thoroughbred mare, and he actually has a duplication in his pedigree). This line has produced successful dressage and show jumping horses as well as licensed stallions. Count on Me (Cornet Obolensky), Grafentstein (Grundstein I), and also the German champion, Franziskus (Fidertanz) arise from this line.

The dam Amirande Fantasia is by Florestan I x Donnerhall x Rubinstein.
Fantasia was Imported In Utero, daughter of Elite Mare Dorucza (Donnerhall x Rubinstein) who was bred in Germany. Dorucza is from a line of StPr mares, and has an excellent production record. She produced Sonntagskind, a licensed Hanoverian stallion by Sandro Hit in the US, as well as a full brother to Fantasia (Furst Klasse) that is competing PSG/Inter I also in the US. SONNTAGSKIND was the only stallion in the USA approved for breeding with the American Hanoverian Society in 2009 and was the highest scoring stallion accepted into the ISR/OLD NA breeding book with an incredible 229 points. Other achievements include: 2009 North American 30-Day Stallion Test Champion; 2009 70-Day Stallion Test, Reserve Champion; 2009 USDF Materiale Reserve Champion Four- and Five-Year-Old Stallion; 2009 Region 9 DSHB Champion Stallion and 2008 Region 9 DSHB Reserve Champion Stallion.
This blood is incredibly influential – Florestan I achieved something that no sire before him had achieved- He sired 3 world champions of the young Dressage horses – Furst Heinrich, Florencio, and FBW French Kiss. Fidermark is another Florestan son that has been an incredible producer (siring MSJ Freestyle who is Fidermark x Donnerhall). Furst Heinrich is of course the same cross as Fantasia - Florestan x Donnerhall.

This is Fantasia's first foal, and as she is an older maiden he was born a bit on the small side, but he's nearly doubled in size already and is shaping up super nicely. She is a large mare, estimated 16.3 and I would imagine this c**t should be around 16.2.
He was foaled 9/12/23 and will be registered Hanoverian with a WBFSH Passport.
Make sure you watch the video - it might surprise you! He's got three super paces, and he's not even trying in these videos. And he is less than two weeks old! I'd snap him up now before I get even better video and his price goes up! 😆

These special foals have carefully planned pedigrees that have really delivered the goods this year. When you plan to bring out the strengths in each of the genetics of the sire and dam, you can really improve your results. This takes hours of research looking past ten generations of the pedigrees. Our foals are raised and handled well, with regular farrier attention (Forte has already had his first trim). All our foals are breed registered. Last year we presented the highest scoring Rhineland c**t and Gold Medal foal on the HHSA tour. One of our first bred foals - Borderview Sapporo recently scored over 85% for a win in the 5yo YH at Tamworth. Our mares are very carefully selected and most already have successful progeny under saddle. C**ts 2 & 3 are from fully imported damlines.
