Stirling Area.
9.30 am at Heathfield High School.
Meet and Park on Longwood Rd . Heathfield, at front of Heathfield High School. Walk will be mainly on footpaths around the area. Some reserves where possible. Will drive into Stirling for coffee after walk.

Protect Grey Hounds Rally.🐾🐾
There is a rally/ get together on Saturday at Parliament House in Adelaide. 10.30- 11.30. For protection of Greyhound from cruelty. I am letting our group know so they can choose to attend or not. May be impossible to meet as group but will catch up with each other there. Hounds invited to attend also. Joy and I will be going. We are going to park at DJ ‘s Carpark. Hope to be at PH at 10.00. am. Hope some of you can attend . Be the voice of our wonderful hounds. 🐾🐾🐾🐾

9.30 am .From KARKOO PLANT NURSERY.
Park at new gravel carpark. BEHIND KARKOO NURSERY .
Drive past the nursery and bear right over the creek crossing. Carpark immediately on your right. Walk will start here.
Have checked out some nice undulating grassed tracks behind racecourse and onto track adjacent to racecourse. Coffee booked at Karkoo after walk. Hope you enjoy this new walk.

Developing Empathy
Frustrated by your horse? Try this---
Go for a run. Yes, you, human rider. Intersperse your run with sets of push-ups. See how long it takes before you lose athletic buoyancy, before you “just can’t.”
Fatigue in a horse, which is pretty much the same thing that you just felt, creates leaning, tripping, stumbling, slow reactions, poor coordination, lugging on the hand, all sorts of what you may be mistaking for “bad behavior.”
The tired horse will feel just like a “disobedient” horse. And then what will happen to that horse if the rider doesn’t tune into the horse’s fatigue? You know exactly what will happen to the horse. It will get drilled on. Drilled on just when the exact opposite should happen.
Trainers who lack the ability to sense what the horse is going through are among the worst drillers, and they create tense, scared, resistant horses, and they then do something even worse, they blame the horse.
Change your mind set. Think how YOU would feel if you had gotten beyond your limits and then got ground on and punished to fix your bad behavior.
You think I’m kidding? You think this isn’t going to happen today, all across the world where people ride and drive horses? That unfit for the task horses won’t be cranked and pressured? Dream on.
The best thing that you can do if your goal is to become a competent trainer is to constantly be aware of your own frustration meter. And stop before you create damage, physical and emotional injury and distress. Get a little and end on that. If even a little seems elusive, DO NOT GRIND. Go walk, try again tomorrow. Don’t add fear and anxiety to the training process.
I will say this one more time---“Don’t add fear and anxiety to the training process.”
Why am I saying this so often? Because if I had learned this decades sooner, I would have been a far better trainer and horse person---That’s why. Learn, if you are capable of doing so, from the mistakes that others have made. Do not drill your horse.

This walk is mainly flat. A mix of footpaths, oval and bush tracks.
Short cut options are available. Coffee & Cake at the Mylor General Store. Close to Coopers Fodder( Not “ Verte” on the corner) Seating out front. Hounds very welcome. 🐾🐾

Would appreciate some experienced Vet recommendations for removal of
one double tooth , clean and check of mouth for 11 yr old Greyhound. Inflamed gums as well.

This is the life that hundreds of Galgos have to live in Spain due to lack of protection laws and cruel hunting/ racing of these beautiful hounds. They are thrown into the streets to starve after often having legs broken on purpose.
WHY !!!😥😥😥. This is one that Galgos del Sol are trying to save. She is on a downhill slide unfortunately. The Spanish Galgo owners get away with murder. My heart breaks for these beautiful hounds💔💔

We are sorry to advise that June and Peter unfortunately lost Mary to Cancer. She was diagnosed several months ago and was coping very well. Still coming to our weekly walks. It was a very fast downturn and she was rushed to Vets but nothing further could be done for her.
We all wish June & Peter our
sincere condolences on Mary’s passing.

7yo black kelpie with a white chest. Desexed and microchipped. On medication and may have a limp now due to this. His owners have gone back to Adelaide due to work. Please people of Pelican Point, Blackfellows Caves & Carpenter Rocks region continue to keep a look out for him. The beautiful posture over the huge hedge exhibited by this fox hunter from the Cambridge University FB page tells us that stylish riding can be found anywhere, not just in equitation classes.
I would almost suggest that the sheer size of the jump elicits good posture, because woe betide jumping up the neck and letting your legs swing back over something like this.
Post this photo somewhere, if your goal is to ride like this, and put a note next to it---"If she can do this out hunting, I can do it in my jumping ring!"
Then take steps to fulfill that wish.

Warning about snakes. !!! Two days ago my daughter’s small Miniature Labradoodle was on their fenced mown lawn in Hills. We were all working in garden and paddocks and when she came up to the house noticed the young dog was lethargic, had runny Poo and wee on the deck ( which she never does) and luckily my daughter noticed other discharge, liquid from bowel. Straight to vets at Meadows
and luckily Vet knew it was snakebite, treated and found Brown Snake venom. Long story short, pup was admitted overnight and saved. Thankyou to the wonderful Vet at Meadows for opening up the clinic and treating Luna immediately. ❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾
