🌾 We are seeing LOTS of embedded grass seeds this season already.

⚠️ A reminder to avoid walking through long, dry grassy areas at this time of year and check your pet’s paws/ears/eyes/nose regularly for these pesky grass seeds!

🌱 We are well and truly in Grass Seed Season now! 🌾

Grass seeds are often shaped like a dart or arrow, which is why they easily get stuck in the skin and fur of our pets. They are commonly found during the spring and summer months, in areas with dry or long grass.

Grass seeds will often find there way into pets’ ears, nose, paws, eyes and ge****ls - but can become embedded anywhere in the body. Once embedded, grass seeds usually cause irritation and infection. If left untreated, they can require surgery to remove.

To reduce the risk of your pet getting a grass seed embedded, check them all over after walks (especially their paws!), keep on top of grooming and avoid walking through long or dry grass.

If you think your pet has a grass seed, contact your local vet as soon as possible. The earlier grass seeds are caught, the less damage they do.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - RELOCATION OF EMERGENCY CENTRE.

We would like to make all of our clients aware that as of today, emergency pet care at AAERC, 119 Anzac Highway, Kurralta Park will no longer be available as the property has been acquired for demolition for the expressway.

Emergency services from Greencross will be available from Friday 1st November at 102 Magill Road, Norwood.

After hours options in the interim include SASH Adelaide at 99 Rundle Street, Kent Town and Pawprints at 199 Main Road, Blackwood.

Today we are celebrating our team of passionate, dedicated vet nurses! Thank you for all your hard work, today and everyday. 🐶🐱🩺

Our vet nurses play such a vital role within the clinic - each day they are assisting in surgery, monitoring anaesthetics, caring for hospitalised patients, working the reception desk, running laboratory tests, keeping the whole place clean and tidy, and so much more! The clinic simply wouldn’t run without them! We love our nurses! 💜

Today is Take Your Dog To Work Day! 🐶🩺

Some of our staff dogs are lucky enough to come to work on a regular basis. You may have seen them relaxing behind the desk but we do occasionally put them to work! Our staff dogs are expert treat testers, demo dogs and sometimes even blood donors! ❤️
