AVAILABLE

Hey friends, I have a really cute ✨UNRACED✨ tb here without much of a job. As it’s been years since her prep and she didn’t do much I’m offering her as UNSTARTED

⭐️GALLOWAY (14.3 3/4)
⭐️6 YEARS
⭐️CUTE AND MOVES WELL

We got Daisy as a potential project a few years ago, she went through a rough ish let down, and then had a run of abscesses fairly high up so we decided to spell and let her grow and mature. We put her in foal once she’d come good as she’s a lovely type, and once she’d settled she showed she has a temperament to die for. Unfortunately she slipped.

She is not your average tb at all now, she thrives off very little (1/2 kg pellets and meadow hay), great to handle even when it’s been weeks/months. However she is a windsucker, we just keep her in an electric rope yard with tread ins and she doesn’t fuss or gulp air or anything. If she isn’t able to latch onto anything you wouldn’t know she windsucks, and as we’ve managed it from the time she came she hasn’t developed any issues as a result.

2k firm and absolutely worth it as is, price including a (discounted) proper start can be discussed but we don’t have a vacancy for about 8 weeks. All the usual settling out of racework stuff is over, I consider her a clean slate. If not sold as is she’ll come into work in about 8 weeks and her price will go up, or we’ll keep to breed from.

Experienced home only - as lovely as she is, she’s a young tb and hasn’t seen much of the world. I popped her in the roundyard after her trim yesty for a play and she loved it, girthed up and bridle on at liberty with no fuss. She really wants to please 💜

Sometimes you meet a special soul, and you know they’re just that ‘type’ that everyone wants, who takes life as it comes and is naturally sweet, kind, and so willing. She’s a beautiful girl Amy, and I’m thrilled you’ve decided to hang onto her 💜

Just wanted to pop up a few before and after pics of one of our biggest characters, the aptly named ‘Springbok’. We bought this girl almost 12 months ago very cheaply as a problem horse/hopeful broodmare if nothing else. Her previous owners (who love her)wanted her to have a shot at being safe, loved, and happy without anyone getting seriously hurt, and had exhausted their options and resources with her unfortunately. We have a few of her family floating around and love them all, and as we didn’t ’need’ anything else going under saddle we figured we had plenty of time to give her a break and then see if we could unravel what was going wrong.

Straight off the truck she had bitten me before I had even managed to pat her 🤣 and took the first opportunity to try to kick my head off while rugging her. We had seen pics and vids of her as a young horse, yes she was exuberant, masses of character, lots of opinions, but not aggressive or unwilling.

We gave her a few weeks to settle then off for a scope, it was obvious she was ulcery but we were curious to know the extent. They were fairly bad (stage 4 from memory) but something worth noting is that there were areas of healing starting already. She was having a very basic hard feed, no special supps, and adlib hay in a paddock with friends (including her mother, who gave her some massive telling offs). That’s what she needed to start healing herself, and it’s a good example of how absolutely important management that lets them ‘be a horse’ can be. Horses don’t care about the things we care about! We don’t have a flash facility by any stretch of the imagination, but once her personal needs were met, she started to settle and heal even before veterinary intervention.

There has been a lot of talk about the dreaded ULCERS the last few years, and I think most of us are aware of the common and obvious symptoms, but something I haven’t seen come up a lot is how much they can affect the way a horse moves and can carry themselves. This horse had not long been out of work, as you can see she is carrying muscle in front and nothing behind in the first pics. Even running in the paddock, full of adrenaline, her hind end never followed through normally for her breed and type.

She’s been in light work for a little while now. She ‘shuffled’ behind out of habit to start with, so we did some specific exercises where she would have to really engage her hind end, and once there were enough repetitions where it wasn’t so hard for her, she became a willing partner.

Had a nice little sesh with her last night where I really noticed the difference, and felt like sharing I guess! We still have a LOT to work on, but her being happy, healthy, and willing is enough, everything is else is icing on the cake 💜

Hi everyone! As we move into my favourite season 😁 just a reminder that we run in most weather, and tend to only really cancel in the case of a relevant weather warning or lightening. If you don’t like getting wet that’s fine, we can do learning on the ground undercover 🙏🏻

Our general terms are 24 hours notice (obviously we make a lot of exceptions because life is life) to cancel and receive a make up, I will be tweaking our terms and conditions in time for the new financial year and have been meaning to for a while so apologies to our newer riders who haven’t received our ts and cs. We hate turning people away but as of now we aren’t taking on new riders using our horses, we have space for those able to byo though 🙏🏻

Will also be changing our lesson structure slightly to better benefit our horses and young riders in particular, stay tuned for positive changes 🥰

Hi everyone! We are doing some fencing, reshuffling, and moving horses around accordingly over the next weekish. There will be some extra activity and ‘spooky’ happenings, so if you’d like to check in before you come out that’s totally fine 💜

❄️Happy Winter!❄️
