Enjoying spending some time outside with this gorgeous nut of a horse. Hes doing very well with his neighbors the sheep. We tried to introduce them, but it’s too wet for horse (yeehah) shenanigans….. so we chilled with enjoyed some coat free time and a good brush instead….

Taking a moment to breathe and set my mind for another long week… slowly kicking our goals in our new business; and remembering to try to make time for everyone… if we had longer days and worked less maybe… one day we will be able to spend more hours with family and less hours working… until then we take moments and enjoy them when we can…

Next time you say "damn, must be nice" or your “real lucky” - you might want to understand the lifestyle that has made it appealing to you!

9-5 didn't make it.
Parking our ass on the couch to watch TV every night didnt make it.
Sleeping in on Saturdays didnt make it.
Calling in when sick didnt make it.
Being content with where we're at didnt make it.

It came from some 15-20 hour days.
It came from beating the sun up.
It came from working on weekends.
It came from sacrificing family time.
It came from wanting a little better tommorow at the expense of today.

These are a few things to consider before you throw out "damn, must be nice" at someone! We are all products of our competence. And extra efforts are what make the biggest differences at the end of the day!

My heart is broken💔

I have found out that I suffer from a incurable disorder called Chickitis. It causes extremely uncontrollable urges to get more chickens even if you have plenty.

To suppress the symptoms you have to call your local Chicken Dealer, Tractor Supply or Co-op. For all those who suffer with me know this...you are NOT alone.

Well; today we head off on our holiday… while we leave our trusted business in great hands…. We are on a long awaited trip with most of our family and parents. We will share some pearls of wisdom along the way; so keep an eye out! Todays pearler???? Well… we obviously do maintenance on our van; check everything and pack spares for ALMOST all occasions…. Jumped in the truck and down the road - boss man realises no brakes… so a few trouble shooting moments later…. It’s the trailer socket has been diagnosed. The one thing we didn’t pack a spare for….. special thanks to Simon at Tenterfield Home Hardware for helping us out even though he wasn’t “meant” to be open!! Your bloody legend mate! Loved your sign btw!

Further diagnoses…… dogs have chewed break line under the caravan. All now fixed and resting in…. Stanthorpe

What’s your thoughts?
On “kill” day - I stick with the butcher, watch and discuss the carcasses. How they look, how the meat is, the quality etc. My husband and kids call me names etc and it’s a bit of a joke… but honestly - when you have an animal done - do you stick watch and learn, or do you walk away and just come back at bagging day?

I like to learn and see how the feed is working with the animal, how I could do better and what I did wrong. You learn that at that stage….

Well it’s that day again…. 5 lamb/ewe/rams to the butcher. Leaves us with 2 pregnant ewes, 2 mum n bubs, and one small girl. (7) cleaning out the paddock and leave fresh for a bit. If we were to go and get this lot from Cole’s/Wollies/butcher would have been a minimum of $1,526.42. Once I’ve taken out the butchers fees, and feed, we are ahead this time.

Well we hosted another party this weekend, and it was for my 40th birthday…. Had a fantastic time with some amazing people who came and spent the weekend with us…. How did you spend your weekend?
