On Saturday Lynda got a call from a couple in leschenault, they said there was a snake in the shed and it wasn’t moving. Upon arrival expecting a dead snake, we both got a shock, to our surprise one dugite was eating another dugite As you will see in one of the photos.
When Lynda bagged it up it kept on chomping down on this little dugite by the time we released it The Snake had devoured the other snake.

On Friday Justin got a call to meadow landing’s where a big snake was in a woodshed, when he got there they started carefully pulling the wood out of the shed. When they were halfway down the pile Justin had a look over the back of the wood heap and could see this Snake, so they kept removing the wood, when he got to the last bit of wood near bottom they got a shock when they realise how big this dugite was. Even with some of the tail missing it was about 1.7 metres , she had a stumpy tail from a previous injury and she was chockablock full of eggs, (gravid) justin carefully grabbed her by her tail and used the hook to support her belly and place her gently in the bag, when we went to release Mrs stumpy, she wasn’t too happy but then realised she was free and took off like a rocket . In the photos you can see Mrs stumpy get all defensive when we released her.

After yesterday's post we had a few messages about snakes being dangerous, mean and threatening people. Thought we would bring out this oldie to help illustrate exactly how it works.....

Just had a call from a lady out Boyanup to say she had a tiger snake in her archway cover in a vine , we jumped in the car and went out to have a look . When we got there she told us it was last seen on top of the timber archway so we had a look and there was this stunning little almost all yellow tiger ,with a bit of trimming of the vine to get a better view ,we worked together to guide the snake out of it’s hiding spot and with a bit of guidance the snake appeared to be easy to grab so justin grabbed the snake and dropped it in bag and released it away from harm . It was a team effort all round as we were working above head height the whole time . 🐍🐍

And finally we got another call at a couples place in meadow landings where a dugite was trying to help itself to Dave’s beer (the home owner) when Justin arrived justin could see the snake up under the beer fridge and then he slid into the digital face of the fridge ,sorry Dave time to operate on your fridge . By then boss lady (Lynda )arrived and wanted to get in on the action ,so justin stood back and watched while Lynda started to operated on the fridge a couple of screws later and the metal plate was off and Lynda grabbed the dugite and bagged it and released away from harm

This morning Justin go a call from a business in Harvey that had a snake in there office,so he jumped in the car and took off. When he arrived he shuffled a bit of furniture around and pulled a desk away from the wall and there it was ,one of the darkest dugite’s we have seen in along time , this dark beast was one of the calmest snakes and the easiest to bag ,after that he was safely released away from harm

Hi everyone I do apologise for the calls we have missed lately as iv started my new full time job and yesterday we were spend the day with the kids at the show and softball and didn’t hear our phones I do apologise

While at the Brunswick show yesterday we had a call from a lovely lady who had a dugite in her yard as she had eyes on we left the show to see if we could capture the sneaky little bu**er, on arrival it had gone next door but these absolute champions still had eyes on and omg this would have been close to one of the biggest we had seen in a long time 1.7 - 1.8m, while trying to capture her she decided she was not going to cooperate what so ever and make it very vocal that nope not going to do what you want and I’m gonna hide under a IBC garden bed 🤦🏼‍♀️ so we had to come up with a new game plan to safely capture this giant
So we placed a catchers bag each side and poked around a little and after awhile she decided while still vocalising her feelings to go hide in one of the bags, lynda had to very quickly scoop the bag up and close it up as was not a happy girl what so ever
There are no photos as it just wasn’t safe enough to muck around with her just to try get a photo but we do have a release vid

In the meantime, Justin got another call to dugite in dardanup so instead of waiting for this one to come out the tree, he ducked over to dardy bagged that little dugite up and then started to drive back to Burekup when the lady called and said she had the snake already in the bucket. So justin swapped it from bucket to bag and released both snakes away from harm

This really shows the diversity of the coloration of our local dugite’s
