As i am sure many of you have guessed …
yes i am immigrating to Australia!

I have been offered the opportunity of a life time, and have had my visa approval at 6am this morning.

Unfortunately this does mean ill cease trading at the end of January.

If i havent already I will be in touch over the next couple of days

New horse presented to myself today,
owner had previously disclosed her concerns with her horses feet and ‘lameness’ believed to be related to them.

After an initial assessment we could clearly see fetlock varus on both forelimbs more so on the left fore, resulting in heavy lateral toe first landing, resulting in a shorter stride and discomfort on the turn.
I believe the uneven loading through the limb has resulted in caudal heel failure.

After a dressing the feet level to the long axis, we opted is use and modify a fifpe jump sport shoe.
Using this shoe allowed me to ‘create’ a medial lift/timeline shoe, resulting in level landing/loading of the limb.
With the use of a 3d full pad with a frog resess added, along with 3rd millenniums new ‘swede’ pads underneath to minimise any additonal abrasion to the already ‘low weak’ heels also facilitating the use of magic cushion underneath along with an shore 25 impression material to the caudal aspect.
Allowing the weight sharing structures of the hoof to be utilised and in time returning the the elastic properties to the caudual aspects that have currently failed.

The Horse showed an immediatly improvement in soundness, along with a lengtened gait 🎉 happy customer!

So George has been working along side myself for just over a year now, 4 days a week, and holiday cover.
Hes now at a point where he needs to
cut down with myself to allow him time for his ever growing clientele.

Ill be looking to take on a like minded qualified farrier, to work alongside myself 1/2 days a week with potential for a full time role, no big numbers but quality is paramount.
starting early september.

Great variety of shoeing from competition horses, show, pleasure, and therapeutic work, ( no field work) with great clients!
