WINTER WELLNESS...
Yes, good ol' Winter is now upon us! I don't know about you but l certainly feel the cold a lot more now as l get older. Same goes for our older horses. To help your older horses this winter make sure they always have access to shelter and good clean mixed grass hay - their thermoregulation is pretty cool!
Keep an eye on your horses, are they getting enough sleep? Do they feel comfortable to lie down and rest properly? How are they with getting back up? Old stiff joints can be painful and make moving and lying down difficult. Regular gentle bodywork can assist them with their mobility and help to improve their quality of life.

Musings for the day.... Have you ever gone to go up to your horse in the paddock and they have deliberately turned away from you and walked off and that is not typical behaviour for them? Might pay you to pause, take a breath and check in with yourself, how is your energy, are you stressed, angry, emotional, sad, erratic? As horses are sensitive energetic beings sometimes our energy or intentions is simply too much for them in that moment and they choose to give themselves space.
Allow them to do that, it's important. Try not to be too human and over analyse it, don't take it as a rejection! 😆
