Compassion – Understanding – Empathy
Please keep these three words in your heart as you read this.
Last week, a woman came to us, desperate for help for her elderly neighbour. This woman is alone, trying to care for *over 50 cats*, including 4 mums with 18 tiny kittens, and many more pregnant females. At first, we thought we just couldn’t handle this—we don’t have the space or resources. But we couldn’t shake the image of her, living overwhelmed by this impossible situation every day without any glimmer of hope. We knew we had to step in.
Here’s what we’re facing:
💚 This woman tried to get help months ago, but because she’s managed to keep the cats fed, no one stepped in.
💚 She has no family, and after losing her partner, she’s facing this all alone.
💚 She’s doing everything she can, but she’s drowning, and these cats need us—now.
We are this woman’s last hope. But we can’t do this without you. For a small rescue like ours, taking on such an enormous situation is beyond what we can handle alone. We NEED your help, urgently.
💚Stage 1💚 begins in the next two weeks. We are bringing in the 4 mums and their 18 kittens—22 more lives for us to care for. We need to make sure we have the supplies, funds, and space ready for them. We’re talking about food, litter, worming treatments, flea treatments, and vet bills that are piling up fast.
Each cat costs us anywhere from $300 to $500 to care for, and with adoption fees only $250, we’re already in a deficit. Without immediate donations, we simply cannot make this happen.
💚Stage 2💚 We will work on taking in the pregnant mums—more than 10, as of now.
💚Stage 3💚 We’ll focus on helping the adult cats.
We know what you’re thinking — why not just take all the cats at once? The truth is, with so many pregnant cats, that number will double soon. We also need to be mindful of the elderly woman’s emotional wellbeing and our capacity. We’ve reached out to other rescues, but they are completely overwhelmed themselves.
We can’t save these cats, or help this woman, without your support.
