Today I'm babysitting some extra dogs, luckily they're both chilled with the baby birds as we introduced when young. (I don't leave them unattended though)

Could we have any more lorikeets? YES - the answer is always yes.
Many weeks ago we were deciding on names, Chandler and Joey named themselves when they came crashing in on top of their siblings and being the biggest clowns I've seen in a while.
Meet Chandler, they're fun, exciting, adventurous, cuddly & a big sook when it comes to bed time. Cuddles and kisses all over the face and neck are a must, finally they need to be snuggled into your hand while the other hand makes it dark and warm. If you forget the 2nd hand, a nip will follow to remind you.
This is #2 of 7 and is ready now for a loving and forever home. Not DNA sexed but can easily change to Chanandler l, the female version.

Baby lorikeets have arrived and will be ready in 4 - 8 weeks. S*x unknown, colours unknown for now. Always friendly, cuddly and super big personalities.

Hi all,

I hope you are well, unfortunately I have some sad news, I will not be handraising this coming breeding season.
There may be the odd lorikeet, weiro and eccy if parents abandon or it is required for emergency reasons but otherwise I'll be staying quiet and focusing on my own Flock.

(I've had 2 spinal surgeries in the last 5 months, so I need time to heal properly).

The babies I do have will be parent raised and for sale when weaned. They will tame down nicely with time and will be at a reduced price compared to handriased.

I can also recommend and point you I the direction of local breeders who have handraised birds this upcoming season.

I do have some great bargains for bird toys, I'll post very soon.

Speaking of expensive, how's everyone coping with the price hikes?? Our food budget has increased by $200 a month since January.... it's insane. (We have sheep, ducks, chickens, geese, dogs and ofcourse the many many birds)
I will post some cheaper home-made options for your birds soon.
You will need:
Brown rice - cooked, say 2 cups
Chia seeds - say 2 tablespoons
Pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot- whatever you have and I'll post my option below of spud sheds frozen pack, which makes life easier at hectic & busy times. ( pic In comments l can't add vid + pic)
Small parrot seed if available (not required) replace with pepitas, slivered almonds etc.

These 2 handraised beauties are finally ready. They quite enjoyed the pampered spoon fed lifestyle and didn't want to wean. This happens occasionally but the birds health is my priority so until they are fully independent, they can't leave me.
Meet Zues and Athena (2) - Vosmeari Eclectus
Sweet, independent and so much more. These are not an easy bird, so please do some research and reach out with any questions.

Athena: follows you everywhere, loves a shower, can fly and control it well. Cuddly on her terms only, loves everyone's very curious bird.
Zues: more shy, unlike his sister, gentle and obedient bird, prefers my husband to me, but still enjoys being out, playing with toys and wrecking paper bags (favourite game)
They eat, fruit, veg, pellets of high quality species specific, soaked seeds and lentils etc.
Related birds, so CANNOT be bred together. Each 8 months old.
Will only be sold to approved home, this is a HUGE commitment, they are LOUD also, so a small apartment in the city will not suffice. (It happens often, eg the bird will bond then be rehomed, just check gumtree and see the poor birds being rehomed 6 months after purchase... it breaks my heart) and I do my best to ensure the LUCKY new forever family and the bird is a FOREVER match, not a whim.

This little cinnamon (poppy) is looking for a very specific forever home, they need someone over the age of 12 as their personality is HUGE.
Poppy is:
Determined- going home can be tough and they can get nippy if they don't want to go home/bed etc 😒 🙄 😑 😤
Calm- prefers to just sit on you, only be touched or scratched, when they 'approve' ❤️ 😍
I'd hate for a young kid to develop a fear of bird because this one needs someone firmer, older and needs a companion. This is why I recommend for an older kid.

We also have another special needs weiro. She's a lutino, very sweet and young but has an overgrown bottom mandible (beak) which will need monthly trimming, she is free to only the right forever home. Please send enquiries via sms 0409566426.

This little one had such a relaxing and chilled personality. As long as she's being patted, she's in heaven. This one found the perfect parents and went to their forever loving home this morning. After shower feathers.
We still have a few different birds left for this season & will update over next few days. Eccy, weiro, lorikeet. Tame and avairy available.

Cool treat for lorikeets today, we have babies so added vitamins and minerals for parents & this is a great way to disguise it.
Ribena, Apple/blackcurrent juice (frozen) weetbix, oats and wet/dry lori mix.
Next up is a weiro/cockatiel mix including:
1/2 cup Weiro mix from ankatell stock feeds
1 cup coucus (was extra in pantry, usually brown rice)
Linseed
Aniseed
Soaked seeds 24hrs such as, soup mix, mung beans, chickpeas, 'pigeon mix' (again from ankatell stockfeeds).
1/2 cup oats
Left over frozen veg (maybe 1/2 cup)
Half frozen and its great for individual use, just break rows of it.
We will use remainder fresh today.

Miss Carmen the Vosmeari Eclectus. I've never seen such a vibrant purple/violet. Her personality is equally as unique and beautiful.

We have weiros/cockatiels in all different colours. As always they are handraised, friendly and have different personalities. Most unsexed. Tina the special long feathered budgie LOVES her new mates as she is now 'top bird'.
