📕 The rule is that the temptation cannot reduce or redirect the enthusiasm of the student!

Through the use of luring, differential reinforcement and positive reinforcement we have created, over 3 subsequent repetitions, a better version of what we started with 🤩🔊
In rep1 Ginnie broke early, came too far forwards and needed correcting into position.
Rep2 has Ginnie ease her confusion and she takes a better angle into the lure.
Rep3 gives a similar execution to the previous and we can increase duration.
Rep1 yielded a small food reinforcer

❌A complaint has been made against Trevor for multiple counts of technical interference, streaking and obstruction! Review is under way.
🤷🏻♂️Review is also under way for interference against Bonnie, acting as if she’s the jump and causing some athletes to jump her and go under the actual jump!!!!

🐾🏆Teaching a Trained Final Response, Indication, Alert, is critical for any detection team trying to locate anything.
🧭 It’s how the BioSensor of the Team communicates the presence of the target odour to the Handler. Each Team member has their independent function.
🎯 That odour can be illicit drugs, blood sugar, a person of interest, invasive species of plants/animals, scat, an ancient burial 10s of 1000s of years old, criminal/forensic evidence…even your lost wallet.
🦍 In this case we have transitioned to half a kong. Next step 1/4 kong. But first I want better obedience to odour.
🍦That means I want Genius Ginnie to be purely focussed on the source and not look back for me.

👃 🐾 🐕 Training an indication when your student loves you too much!
🪜 A training progression must balance what the student can do, what is holding the student back and the motivation for the reinforcement (innate and external)
🍦Ginnie loves me a little too much and her indication suffers as a result. She can hunt independently, but she cannot indicate away from me. She needs that nurture nest!
🪺 This is a developmental issue and we will get past it. As long as her Progression allows for it.
🧬 The effort required cannot outweigh the enthusiasm for the performance otherwise the execution will degrade. In our practice we strive for excellence in all 3 aspects.
⏰ The progression is not yet finished! This is a work in progress and it may take you a longer or shorter time to achieve the goals.

🦷 This poor reactive girl has some serious issues! Issues that a simple Sit, Stay and treat won’t fix.
🖤 You cannot love the fightey bitey away!
🧠 These responses are ingrained in the brain and extremely powerful.
🕰️ This is the first session where I could be in the house without her being beside herself in fear! Presented through aggressive displays.
👄 A serious disconnect we have is that when something is in her mouth she will not let go. Fighting her for the object kills our relationship, destroys her small amount of safety and increases the likelihood of a bite.
🏀 Teaching her to resolve a situation through acquiescing is critical. Especially during fearful moments. Using her ball allows her to redirect from fear to prey and that gives us a window of opportunity.
🍪 We start by building a rhythm of success. Successful completion of little things get her paid. Stoked.
🎾 Then we use the TAM to compel a drop of the ball.
🧙🏼♂️ Then the predictable process leads to learning and she can surrender the ball.
💥 We have destroyed a serious point of conflict! This is a massive success and means that moving forwards her life becomes less conflicting and more communal.

✅ We call it Generalisation. This is when a skill is able to be used in any situation with the same benchmarked result.
⚠️ If you only Train in low excitement moods and places, that’s all you’ll ever get!
💥 You must take that Training to exciting moods and places, then you’ll be able to match the result to the requirement.

Before beginning the journey you should develop an end picture. How the positions look, how the heel looks, how straight the recall etc.
Then break these pictures down to create each facet of that picture. Speed, precision, confidence, expectation, anticipation, prediction, resilience, desire, strength.
Skills build the will!
In this video Ginnie is in her Terming Phase of the down. We are heightening her excitement with the presence of a Kong. This elicits a big jump in excitement, reducing clarity. It is also at the end of 5hrs of DayCare, she is physically and mentally depleted.
The result is that the Kong creates a temptation strong enough to suck her away from the Down. But, the only way to get the Kong is to forsake the Kong. Get in the Down and the Kong will come. Sell out to the Down. Make me give you the Kong. Leave no doubt that you deserve the Kong.
The Down has 5 buttons to press:
2 Elbows
1 Sternum
2 Knees
If all these buttons are pressed the Kong will come.
And it does 🏆
