Be careful this is not what you are actually doing to your horse when someone teaches you or you read about desensitising a horse.
Animals including humans do not become desensitized by being traumatized by your worst nightmare. The nervous system is damaged as self-regulation has become overwhelmed.
Horse need to know they are safe any you their guardian are educated to understand how to do this according to The horse, not some human. Please do not do this to your horse. There is no beneficial point to it.

An interesting article I found by Thomas Ritter on how classical dressage was competion dressage early last century and why it’s important for classical trained students to get out competing. I was looking for something else 🤷‍♀️🕊

BY DR. THOMAS RITTER People often ask whether classical dressage can be successful in competitions, or whether you have to sell out and sacrifice the horse’s well-being and the principles of classical dressage in order to be successful in competitions. There are several different issues involve...

Yesterday I turned 65 , it’s been on my mind forever. I’m still trying to align myself to this number in my mind I seem to always be in the 70,s and 80’s never left 😂💕
Thank you to all my FB friends who wished me happy birthday xx to all.
The present I received was still having my beautiful Adoure still here with me. Lucky I have been practicing gratitude so I can see how amazing this is as she is so unwell. And I really have had a few hard years again now I’m getting better Adoure is leaving. Always seems so I dare but she stayed for yesterday so yes I spent yesterday and today feeding her carrots and syringing purée into her mouth so she has some lining on her stomach. Though she is on omniprozal as well.

Here we are today eating all the carrots on a very beautiful August day as the sun sets perfect life

Adoure was a little flat this morning wanted to eat. Which is pretty much only Lucerne hay but she couldn’t do it. I made her up an oils blend to soothe her emotions and come into the present.
In a base of magnesium I added the essential oils of Blue Tansy, Ylang Yang, 2 of my favourites, myhrr and frankincense with an equal amount of h**p seed oil.
I applied very gently Along her ventral line from the sternum right through to behind her bo***es . I cleaned the b***y area with the oils which she never would allow me to do. Along her spine and down each side under the lumber.
It was soothing for both of us. When I finished she turned around and looked into the shed so I brought her out some fresh Lucerne which she munched down. Nearly half a biscuit. This was a relief.
Here’s my baby this morning afterwards .

What do people use as like an online Teledex. So I can file businesses and names in an on line area or is there a common app or programme that does this? I lose things but a hard copy teledex we didn't

Another opportunity to learn and experience the detail that comes with a Ritter Course. Here is a Free challenge on the Canter. And it will be so much more that one leg on the girth the other behind.

Thomas even in this Free challenge will talk you through all the fundamentals steps to balance yourself and your horse to be successful and not just cross your fingers legs clamping and hope the horse understands.
The difference when Thomas teaches to what I have experienced with coaches is that he teaches us what the horse needs to be successful, to be balanced themselves and to understand the aids as they make sense to the movement. He does this by teaching us how to understand biomechanically the movement in line with the foot falls and rotations and symmetries of the horse and ourselves.

I don't get to canter very much at all but I learnt so much when I took the canter course a few years back, as everything Ritter teaches is from the foundation up. I would love to hear especially in the Canter workshop FB group what you think.

In this 6-Day Workshop, we will guide you through 5 of the most common “seat mistakes” riders make in the Canter, and you will learn what you need to do in order to improve your seat in the canter and truly help your horse to develop a better canter.

I'm looking for a new hoof stand which I greatly need. Budget is around the 200$ mark. With this style i like the top cradle attached as I lose things in front of me. But is the cradle too deep ? Although I would like a cradle that supports the hoof and it doesn't just slide off.

And does the base sound stable enough?
