🦠 How to Prevent Your Dog from Contracting Parvovirus 🐕💉

Prevention is always better than a cure, and when it comes to the deadly parvovirus, vaccination is the safest, most effective (and affordable) way to protect your pet!

🐾 Vaccinate Early & Keep Up with Boosters:
Start vaccinations at 6-8 weeks old and complete all 3 puppy shots by 16 weeks. Keep up with booster shots for life.

🐾 Keep Puppies Isolated:
Don’t let puppies interact with other dogs until 2 weeks after their final vaccination (around 16 weeks).

🐾 Avoid High-Risk Areas:
Stay away from dog parks, boarding kennels, and public spaces until your puppy is fully vaccinated.

🐾 Be Careful with Shared Spaces:
Use fake grass or a dedicated patch for training if you're in a rental with an unknown yard.

🐾 Clean & Decontaminate:
Clean toys, bowls, and bedding with bleach to kill the virus. Consult your vet for the best cleaning methods.

🐾 If You Suspect Parvovirus:

🚨 Heat Stroke in Dogs: Know the Signs! 🚨

As temperatures rise, it's important to be aware of the signs of heat stroke in dogs, a serious condition that can happen quickly and without warning. 🌞🐾

Signs to watch for:

🌡️ High body temperature
💦 Excessive panting or drooling
❤️ Rapid breathing or heart rate
😴 Weakness or lethargy
💩 Vomiting or diarrhea
🦷 Bright red or pale gums
🤯 Staggering or confusion

If your dog shows any of these symptoms, act fast: Move them to a cooler area, offer small amounts of water, and contact your vet immediately.
