Taking care of dogs in hot weather is crucial to ensure their well-being and prevent heat-related issues. Here are some important tips for dog care during hot weather:

1. Provide ample water: Always make sure your dog has access to fresh, clean water. Keep their water bowl filled and check it frequently to ensure it doesn't run out or become contaminated.

2. Create shaded areas: Dogs need a cool and shaded spot to rest and escape the heat. Set up shaded areas in your yard using umbrellas, tarps, or trees. If your dog spends time indoors, ensure they have access to a cool and well-ventilated area.

3. Limit outdoor activities: Avoid strenuous exercise or playtime during the hottest parts of the day. Instead, schedule activities in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are lower. Be mindful of your dog's energy levels and avoid overexertion.

4. Protect their paws: Hot pavement or sand can burn your dog's paws. Walk them on grassy areas or use dog booties to protect their feet. If the ground is too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

5. Never leave them in a hot car: Temperatures inside a car can rise rapidly, even with the windows cracked. Leaving a dog in a hot car, even for a few minutes, can be life-threatening. Leave your dog at home or bring them with you if you can ensure their safety and comfort.

He is one of the dogs currently being looked after at happy fauna pet services! He is a German Shepard shy of a year old loves walks his food and treats a crushed soccer ball and just sleeping and cuddling on our bed with our pet Thor!

Hi my name is Ish. I'm so excited to be a part of Amie's adventure & so glad she's made me a part of it! The long and short of it is, I just love animals & adore taking care of them. I'm particularly in tune with anxious birds (some may say i'm a bird whisperer!) & reptiles, but I love them all whatever they are. You can be sure your fur, feather or scaled baby will be very well taken care of.
