For those of you that follow me and Merton Park Equine Mountain Trail Obstacle Course THAT do not have your own horse but desperately would live to experience the joy of riding in Gods own Country, I highly recommend (for so many heart felt reasons) Mccormacks Mountain Valley Trail Rides .

So many rides to choose from - a dedicated family and team to support you and Yes, it could be said that I am biased as not only Have we done of the most magical Rides, a special moment of my life was carved into my heart at the peak of Craigs hut, but the Mccormacks took on our big boof of a boy Flashman and now have our beautiful Xena "Rangewar Warrier Priness" that I am told are winning everyones hearts!

So if you are looking for the Ride of your life .. have a looksy here!

Depending on the Clinic that suits you April Harvey will guide and support you in learning key groundwork skills and/or Riding Skills utilising our extensive obstacle course.

A great introduction or refresher to develop your horsemanship skills and a deeper connection with your horse.

Obstacle Challenges are a fantastic way to put your horsemanship to the test, explore and enhance skills and build confidence, in a fun and supportive environment.

A TWO DAY COMBINATION CLINIC (Groundwork and Ridden)

Utilising both Arena and Obstacle Course
Advanced groundwork & ridden exercises. April will guide you through techniques to enhance communication skills making your time together safer and more enjoyable.

- Explore training concepts to broaden your understanding of equine psychology and
behaviour, giving you tools to navigate future challenges.
- Learn methods of approaching and navigating obstacles in a safe and supportive
way for you and your horse.
- Learn how to assess your horse’s capacity/comfort zone and work through insecurities and build confidence.

First Day Groundwork -
Arrival from 9:00am
Assemble at Arena 9:50am
Start: 10am
Break into 2 Groups - 1.5 Hour Sessions
Lunch 1pm-1:45pm
After lunch move to Course as a group
Resume 2:15 pm on Course
Finish 4:15 pm

VIOLET TOWN PUB for DINNER (Self-Funded) only 5 minutes up the road!

Second Day Ridden
9.30 Start - Break into two groups - 1.5-hour Sessions.
9:20am Assemble in Arena
Start 9:30am
(Lunch 12.30pm-1.15pm)
2:00pm Head down to course as a group.
End Time: 4.15pm

Note: Long distance travellers may camp over the night before for an additional fee of $25.00 [Yard or paddock included]

FENCE SITTERS are invited to attend at $60.00 per person – Please Phone me to lodge your intention. (A Release of Liability Waiver must be signed upon arrival).

Finally: We recommend a min 9-10ft Lead Rope and Rope Halter for all groundwork activity.
Horse leg protection – protecting cannons and fetlocks.

April Harvey of Natural Rhythm Equine has an incredibly diverse background in many disciplines and areas of educating both horses and humans. She has proven her ability Publically as a competitor/placegetter in (the Australian 150 days from Wild to Wonderful - Brumby challenge and the C**t Starting in the Great Australian Cowgirl Challenge.

April is an incredible instructor with clear and concise teaching skills and with the ability to relate to all participants and their horses. You will walk away from these clinics saying I wish I had done this sooner!

Action Statement: FIRE DANGER PERIODS / EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS

Merton Park Events will be POSTPONED/RESCHEDULED on announced/forecast days of Extreme Weather Conditions including fire Danger ratings of Extreme or CATASTROPHIC. This is for the safety of you all – our clients and their horses. This does not include Total Fire Ban Days unless declared Extreme or Catastrophic.

Please CHECK for Announcements POSTED on this site the evening prior to an event as we will advise any cancellation as soon as is reasonably possible. We will also do our best to contact the main organising person by phone. Your event can be rescheduled on a mutually agreeable date – refunds will not apply.

IF PRESENT - All Persons including those camping on site will be required to leave the property prior to 9.00am on any of these days. Persons attending Merton Park during any Fire Season are recommended to download the VIC EMERGENCY APP and have their own personal Exit - Emergency Management Plan in place. A copy of Our Fire Management Plan is located both in Stable Complex and in Each Accommodation Guest Room.

IMMINENT DANGER:
Merton Park has a dedicated Emergency Assembly Area located at the Main Property Residential/Facility Site.
The dedicated area is the Sand Arena & Stable Complex
- Actual Address is the rear of 55 School Road Boho (Rear of residence)
If a situation is to arise where leaving is not possible follow instructions given by the Chief Warden or their nominated representative. (Property Owner/Clinician)
* Stay Calm
* Seek advice as to where to release your horse - (Priority will be given to protect Human Life)
* Assemble & Register your Attendance at Emergency Assembly Area.
* Seek Shelter in Stable Complex
(Once Registered do not leave the designated area until safe to do so and notify Chief Fire Warden of your movements)
* If you feel you are capable - Offer assistance.

We have on site a Equine Mountain Trail Obstacle Course with over 30 challenges,a 60 x 20 Arena and 20m Round pen which is brilliant for training young horses.
