With reptile husbandry I always use the term KISS .
What does KISS stand for ?
KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID .
Using the KISS method in your husbandry & how you house your reptiles will make keeping easy & effective .
There is some simple steps you should take when thinking on owning a reptile or amphibian
first step is obtain a reptile license which you can check your state’s requirements.
By doing so you can contact your local national parks & wildlife service or office of environment & heritage oeh . Can find this online for your required states .
Second step is do you’re research on the species you like to keep whether it’ll be snake , lizard , turtle or amphibian.( please note species are limited to you license class)
Third step is once you have picked your specific species you would like to keep contact a licensed keeper or breeder for that specific type or reptile or amphibian. You must not collect reptiles from the WILD you must collect or purchase reptiles from another licensed hobbyist.
Four once you have your reptile or amphibian license & have done your research & contacted a reptile breeder .
You must make sure you have your reptile / amphibian enclosure ready before you bring your reptile / amphibian home.
These steps will be beneficial for your ever growing interest into herpetology 🦎 🐍 🐢🐸
