It is something researchers have suspected for 20 years. Now they know for sure the Newcastle funnel-web is bigger, scarier, and different than the rest.

Snake engine bay extraction at Inghams tahmoor this evening .
This red bellied black snake has been hanging around the car parks and buildings of Inghams factory for about a week .
Today it was spotted leaving the packing area of Inghams & through the fence and into the car park. By the time I arrived, the snake vanished .
It was knock off time for the workers as I was about to give up my intuition kicked in ( strange I know ) & This particular owner of the vehicle was about to hope in his car & drive away.
I asked him if I could look underneath his bonnet of the vehicle & Bingo .
My intuition was right I found this Snake.
It was a tricky job, but I got it done.
Thank you to all everyone involved & keeping an eye out & followed my instructions .
it made it a safe extraction/removal of the Snake 👍🐍

It’s been all action today throughout the Highlands Suns out snakes are out. This is one of six Call Outs from 10 am this morning. I have captured and relocated five of the six snakes. the days not over yet I’m expecting a few more especially with this warm weather👍🐍

Weathers been a bit crappy the last few days so it’s been quiet .
But this afternoon the heavens opened up and all the action started . Traveled down to kangaroo valley to collect some reptile eggs . Water dragon eggs to be exact . They will be handed to a wildlife group to be incubated & then back to me for release once hatched .
Then out to trappers bakery in Goulburn for this Tiger snake relocation👍🐍

Spinal osteomyelitis in snakes is not uncommon and is frequently associated with chronic bacterial disease, especially salmonella.
In other words systemic infection in blood stream & it travels to the bone joints .
This causes the bones to fuse and develop marbled to golf ball size lumps to the spine of the snake.
Snakes can live with this to some point in their life but this red bellied black snake had to be euthanised today .
