Our dog Paddington is turning ONE! 🥳🎉 To celebrate, we are hosting a community fundraiser in the Vets in the Village front yard, raising funds for 🙌🏼

Paddy loves nothing more than playing with his friends, so we invite you to bring your pets for play time 🐶 While the dogs have a pawty we will have face painting, prizes, giveaways and a breakfast BBQ!

The event is FREE to attend. We will be selling raffle tickets and breakfast will incur a small fee, with all proceeds to go to Hummingbird House. There will be a gold coin donation tin for cash as well as eftpos facilities.

When: Saturday 2nd March
Where: Vets in the Village front yard

Heat stroke warning ⚠️☀️

Remember to look out for your furry friend during the heat wave. Heat stroke can quickly become a life threatening emergency!

Follow these tips to help keep them safe:
💦 provide access to water & shelter at all times
🚙 avoid leaving pets in cars
🚶‍♀️avoid exercise during hot parts of the day
🐶 special care to predisposed breeds (those with flat faces - including pugs, frenchies, bulldogs)

Meet Moe ❤️ our brave little Villager who had a BIG orthopaedic surgery this week!

Moe ruptured his ACL - also called the ‘cruciate ligament’ in the vet world. This is a very painful condition & left Moe hobbling around on 3 legs. With the help of a specialist orthopaedic surgeon Dr Geoff Robbins, we performed a complex knee surgery to fix the ligament.

Moe never once cried or complained 🙌🏼 🥹 He really was THE BRAVEST boy & we can’t wait to see him back walking in no time!

After going through a breast cancer scare as a teenager, this cause is very important to Dr Ellen. To help raise awareness and show our support, Vets in the Village attended fundraiser 🙌🏼 Thankyou for a wonderful day! And we think pink is Paddie and Eddie’s new favourite colour 😂

Hospital can be a scary place for both patients and owners. Here at The Village, we pride ourselves on making both our patients and their families feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible during their stay.

If your pet has to stay in hospital with us, we promise to try our very best to make it feel like home.

5 Fun Facts about the Burmese Cat

1. Their Thai breed name translates to "beautiful, fortunate and splendid appearance" ~ isn't that the truth!!

2. When it comes to weight, these cats pack a punch! Burmese cats have a compact and muscular build, making them heavier than they appear.

3. They are the extroverts of the cat world. Any Burmese lover will confirm that these social butterflies have darling personalities, turning the charm all the way up when they're happily engaged.

4. Endlessly curious, the Burmese have a habit of getting into things, often to their detriment ~ keep all ribbons, strings and hair ties well away from these curious creatures to avoid health complications.

5. Burmese cats are highly intelligent creatures who can understand basic commands and easily learn tricks when taught properly ~ known for their problem solving skills, Burmese make the perfect companion for those who enjoy engaging with their cats in stimulating activities.

Ethel and Presto agree to all of the above, however wonder why we haven't addressed their stunning beauty ~ which of course, goes without saying!
