Be prepared for storms!

Is your dog scared of thunderstorms? What can you do to help?
🐾bring them inside well before the storm hits
🐾provide a safe cosy den for them, like a crate with a blanket over it or a small room with all windows and curtains closed
🐾turn up the music to help mask the sound of the storm
🐾thunder shirts
🐾speak to a trainer about desensitising your dog to thunderstorms.
🐾in severe cases of storm phobia talk your vet. Sometimes medication can help your dog cope with storms. It is strongly recommended that you try everything else first before going down this avenue.
🐾keep your dogs microchip updated with the correct phone numbers. A frantic dog will often try to run away from storms and sometimes manage to escape their yards.
🐾ignore any scared and anxious behaviour from your dog. Patting them or cuddling them while they’re displaying scared, anxious behaviour will only reinforce these behaviors and encourage them keep doing it.
🐾keep an eye on the weather, so you can be prepared

Does your new puppy need help with basic obedience, socialisation, and learning the ropes? Our Puppy Preschool program is here to help!

Program Details:

• Wednesdays 6:15pm - 7:15pm
• Duration: 4 weeks - $150
• Location: Deagon & Sandgate Vet
• Ages: Puppies 8 weeks - 16 weeks

What Your Puppy Will Learn:

• Basics (Sit, Drop, Stay, Come)
• Toilet Training
• Socialisation with other puppies
• Handling and Grooming Tolerance
• Leash Walking Skills
