🌸 Is your pet prone to allergies? You’re not alone! Here are 6 simple ways to help keep your furry friend more comfortable this Spring:

1️⃣ Allergy test – Your vet can run tests to identify what’s triggering the reaction.
2️⃣ Remove the allergen – Limit your pet’s exposure whenever possible.
3️⃣ Clean regularly – Vacuum and wash bedding often, using non-toxic cleaners.
4️⃣ Regular bathing – Gentle, vet-recommended shampoos can help wash away allergens.
5️⃣ Hypoallergenic diet – If food allergies are suspected, your vet may suggest a special diet.
6️⃣ Further treatment – For severe allergies, your vet may recommend medication or therapies to manage symptoms.

Every pet is different, so always check in with your vet for the best advice.

🌸 Spring is here – and while we love the sunshine and flowers, our pets can struggle with seasonal allergies too! 🐶🐱 Itchy skin, red eyes, constant paw licking, or ear troubles can all be signs your furry friend is reacting to pollen, grasses, or even dust.

If you’ve noticed your pet feeling uncomfortable this season, a check-up with your vet can help get them some relief. 💙

They call it puppy love… 🐶💕

Nurse Evie was treated to all the kisses and cuddles from little Rosie during her recent visit to Animal Emergency Service Hobart. Moments like these remind us why we love what we do.

🌟 Dr Ellie and the Echidna 🌟

This little echidna caused quite a stir when he was brought into Animal Emergency Service Hobart after being found near the road. Assessed by Dr Ellie Hodge, it was quickly clear that he was full of personality, thankfully with no injuries. After his check-up, he was transferred to our friends at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary for ongoing care.

At AES, our work isn’t just about cats and dogs — we’re proud to play a role in helping Australia's unique wildlife too. And sometimes that means sharing a laugh with an echidna along the way.

At AES Jindalee we have been inundated with stray cats & kittens. We do our best to work with the public, council and local foster groups to reunite them with their owners or find their forever homes, however this can mean they stay in our clinic for a very long time. When adopting a cat, please ensure they are microchipped so if they go missing, we can reunite you with your best friend a lot easier 🐈
