Paint & Sip and Resin & Sip Fundraisers for Best Friends Felines -
Strictly limited seating as super small event so book your seats asap!
With 300 cats and kittens in care we are facing a lot of vet work expenses so have decided to run another Paint & Sip fundraiser as well as a Resin & Sip fundraiser for the first time!
We will be running four Paint & Sip classes with Jade, Amber, and Steph at the helm again.
We have 16 seats available for each of the below sessions:
Session 1 – Elegant Plant
Session 2 – Sleepy Kitty
Both of these sessions will run from 11:30am - 1:30pm
Cost - $65 per person
Session 3 – Twilight Birds
Session 4 – Beach View
Both of these sessions will run from 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Cost - $65 per person
There will be two Resin & Sip classes with instructor Melissa there to guide you step by step.
There are 12 seats available for each of the below sessions:
Session 1 – 3D koi fish resin trinket bowl
This session will run from 11:30am - 12:30pm
Cost - $50 per person
Session 2 - ‘Filigree and Bezel Resin Pendants’
This session will run from 2:30pm - 3:30pm
Cost - $45 per person

When I asked them what their name was and how they got my number they didn't reply.
If you know someone that needs help, I will try and help them as best I can, or if I can't help I'll direct them to other places that might be able to help.
I'm more than happy to help if and when I can.

FOSTER CARER NEEDED -
12 week old puppy, mixed breed (possibly GSD X Boxer)
This puppy was found wandering around Ferny Hills yesterday. We need a carer that can hold them for 14 days while we wait to see if an owner can be found.
If no owner is found, Best Friends Felines will vet the puppy and rehome them so a carer that could potentially foster until adoption would be ideal.

Stanford's first beach trip 🥰

Soos managed to catch herself on something sharp yesterday and it tore a small wound in her side. Even though Dr Shane was all booked out until next week he was able to squeeze us in today. He flushed the wound, stapled it closed, and sent her home with antibiotics. She was a very good girl and, as always, Shane and the team at Mitchelton Veterinary Practice took very good care of her.

Charlotte had a visit with the wonderful team at Mitchelton Veterinary Practice today. They were unable to get a urine sample but a quick ultrasound showed there was definitely some detritus in her bladder. I'll attempt to collect a urine sample tomorrow to send off for testing, though the most likely diagnosis is Feline Idiopathic Cystitis. Stress is a common trigger so my guess is she doesn't like Ophelia too much as that's been the only recent change to the home. The meloxicam was making her nauseas so we've switched her to temvet. Hopefully she's feeling better in a few days!

Charlotte has had blood in her urine so she's booked in to see the vet tomorrow. Hopefully it's just idiopathic cystitis and nothing more serious 🤞🏻

I had a lumpectomy and microdochectomy today!
NYE weekend I noticed some changes in my right breast and while having one lesion investigated, a second lesion was discovered.
Both lesions were removed today and sent off to pathology, I should have results 5 - 7 business.
It was my first time under general anaesthetic so I was a bit nervous but the surgery went according to plan.
Please check your breasts regularly and always talk to your GP about any changes!

URGENT CARER NEEDED -
The sweet little Mumma cat was dumped outside a vet clinic with her newly born babies who had their umbilical cords still attached .
Mumma is not in the best of shape , vets said its obvious she has not been well looked after .
Mumma is super underweight at only 2.7 kilos , her coat in poor condition and she is loaded with fleas and worms . They also noted she is super young herself so this is likely her first litter , despite all she has been through she is super sweet and friendly and a doting mum giving those babies the last of her reserves.
The clinic can hold her for another few days but then she will need somewhere else to go and they are hoping to a foster carer rather than the pound .
Mum cats need a carer without other animals or a room of their own as they can be protective of their offspring and with all our current maternity carers full we cannot assist unless we find a new carer so please if you can assist fill out the fostering form below .
Fostering isn't a life long commitment its a commitment to saving a life but we do need someone committed to seeing this family all through to adoption however long that will take.
