We are incredibly proud to share that Dr. Victoria is heading to the Cook Islands to volunteer at a charity vet clinic! This clinic is dedicated to desexing the local dogs and cats to help control the population, as well as treating traumatic injuries and illnesses.
To make a bigger impact, Dr. Victoria is asking for donations to help her take much-needed medical supplies. If you’d like to contribute, donations can be made through Red Collar Rescue.

Dr. Sarah performed a routine dental check and extracted a wolf tooth on Zara, a beautiful 3-year-old horse. 🐎
Wolf teeth, technically known as the first premolar teeth, typically erupt between five and twelve months of age but do not continue to grow or erupt like the rest of the cheek teeth. During Zara's yearly dental check, Dr. Sarah identified a wolf tooth and decided it was time for extraction.
Here’s a glimpse of the process:
Identifying the Wolf Tooth: The tiny first premolar tooth was found during Zara's oral exam.
Administering Local Anesthetic: Dr. Sarah used a syringe to apply local anesthesia to the gum area around the wolf tooth.
Extraction and Dental Check: The wolf tooth was carefully extracted, and Zara's overall dental health was thoroughly checked.
Regular dental check-ups are crucial for young horses, especially around the age of 2.5 to 3 years when they start shedding their baby teeth. A good oral exam under sedation ensures any wolf teeth present can be extracted, promoting better health and comfort for your horse.

Meet Charlie, a handsome Friesian bull with a heart of gold! Recently, Charlie came to us with a puncture wound on his front left leg, just behind the carpal joint, that had become infected. Thanks to his calm and cooperative nature, no sedation was needed – a true testament to his hand-raised, gentle personality! 😄
Here's what we did to ensure Charlie's swift recovery:
Clipped and Cleaned: We carefully clipped and cleaned the wound to get a clear view.
Probed and Flushed: The wound was probed and flushed, confirming it didn't go too deep and had no foreign bodies.
Ultrasound Check: To be thorough, we used an ultrasound around the wound and confirmed there were no hidden foreign objects.
Treatment: Charlie received antibiotics, a tetanus shot, and pain relief to aid in his healing process.
Daily Care: He'll need daily wound cleaning for a week, followed by a recheck to ensure everything is healing perfectly.
We're proud of Charlie for being such a brave and cooperative patient! 🐂❤️ Let's all wish him a speedy recovery and many more happy, healthy days ahead!

Our clinic had the joy of assisting Abbey, a brave 3-year-old cattle dog, in welcoming her adorable puppies into the world. 🐶💕
Abbey delivered two pups naturally early this morning, but her owners knew there were more to come. Previous imaging had shown 6-7 puppies in total. After three hours with no additional puppies, Abbey was brought into Vet Cross, where Dr. April performed an examination and discovered a puppy stuck in the pelvic canal.
Despite efforts to assist naturally, it was clear that a Caesarean section was needed. Dr. April, along with our incredible team – Nurse Ben, Nurse Rachel, Nurse Amanda, vet student India, and Dr. Amy Cox – sprang into action. The C-section was a success, and four more healthy puppies were delivered! 🐾✨
Thanks to the dedication and teamwork of our staff, all six puppies are happy and healthy. Abbey recovered smoothly from her anaesthetic and is proving to be an amazing mother to her beautiful litter.
Congratulations to Abbey and her family on the safe arrival of their new furry additions! 🐶💕
