Meet Sierra Marriott, one of the newest friendly faces at Vet Cross! 💙

Sierra joined our team in October 2024, bringing with her a genuine passion for animal care and helping pets recover and get back to their happy, healthy selves. 🐾

Having completed her Certificate II in Animal Care, Sierra loves spending time in the hospital, where she finds it incredibly rewarding to help animals through their recovery journey.

A long-time Vet Cross client herself, Sierra is excited to now be part of the team caring for the pets and people she’s known for years. 💚

Outside of work, you’ll find Sierra out camping or relaxing at the beach with her Kelpie, Moose. 🐶☀️

Help us give Sierra a big Vet Cross welcome in the comments below! 👏

Snake Bite Warning Signs 🐍🚨

Snake season is here, and bites can happen fast. Keep an eye out for these signs in your pet:

✅ Sudden weakness or collapse
✅ Vomiting
✅ Trembling or shaking
✅ Dilated pupils
✅ Difficulty breathing

If you suspect a snake bite, seek veterinary care immediately — every minute counts.

Stay safe and keep your pets close. 💛🐾

🌍 November 14th is World Diabetes Day!
Did you know our pets can develop diabetes too? 🐾

Just like in people, diabetes in pets happens when their body can’t properly regulate blood sugar levels. It’s more common in middle-aged to older pets, and early detection makes a big difference!

👀 Keep an eye out for signs like:

Increased thirst and urination

Weight loss despite a good appetite

Lethargy or changes in behaviour

If you notice these symptoms, book a check-up with our team — early diagnosis and treatment can help your pet live a happy, healthy life. 💙

At Vet Cross, we’re here to help you manage your pet’s health every step of the way.

Meet Brooke – one of our amazing Qualified Veterinary Nurses (QVN)! 💙

Brooke’s journey into veterinary nursing started in 2019 when she brought her pup in for a vaccine at Vet Cross… and left with a trial day! Fast forward to today, and she’s an invaluable part of our team.

Brooke holds her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is expanding her skills with further studies in emergency and critical care, as well as nutrition. She’s especially passionate about critical care and hospital nursing, finding great reward in helping unwell patients recover and return home to their families. 🐾

When she’s not at work, Brooke loves spending time with her dog Ollie (a Wolfhound x Lab), hitting the gym, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying time with her family and friends.

We’re so lucky to have her on the Vet Cross team! 💙

Meet Rachel – one of our amazing Qualified Veterinary Nurses here at Vet Cross! 💙

Rachel started her nursing journey in 2021, completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and developing a strong passion for large animals—especially equine artificial insemination. 🐴

A long-time client of Vet Cross, Rachel decided to join our team after seeing the compassion and dedication given to her family’s animals over the years. Now, she gets to share that same care with our clients every day. 💕

Originally from Mt Perry, Rachel lives a busy rural life with her two horses, Casino the Quarter Horse and Flick the Stock Horse. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her mustering, campdrafting, working cattle, or spending time with her family.

Drop a 🐎 in the comments to welcome Rachel and show her some love!

✨ We’ve just upgraded our ultrasound capabilities! ✨
We are thrilled to announce that Vet Cross Bundaberg now has a brand new ultrasound machine — this is cutting edge gear designed especially for veterinary practices.

What this means for you and your pets:

Sharper images = better insight. The machine delivers high-definition scans so our vets can spot problems more clearly.

Faster and smoother workflow, which means your pet spends less time under scan and more time being calm and comfortable.

We’re also sending our current ultrasound unit to our Bargara clinic, so now Bundaberg, Gin Gin & Bargara locations will all be equipped to provide on-site ultrasound imaging.

📸 In the photos — you’ll see our team getting hands-on with the new machine today!
We’re excited to put this advanced tool to work for our patients and improve the care we deliver.
