We seem to have worked out the Pride Of Dubai x Pretty Snitz filly after pulling her off the poly at home and she’s now put 2 nice races together consecutively since joining the stable.
Due for the online auctions, we made a few adjustments and I was quite happy with today’s effort, she’s a filly that’s really settled down into her environment now and has been ticking over nicely.
Money looks the same in the bank account, and we took a float load of horses down to provide connections of each horse with every opportunity to cash a cheque as some of them come to the end of there current preparations.
Avoid The Misstres, good, now up to the right distance, pace was just slightly pedestrian, so had to get into the race a fraction earlier then planned however she didn’t particularly handle the tight corner which probably cost her a closer margin. Good Run, still well on track and will win another mile and a quarter at a track similar Lismore, Twba, Sunny Coast.
Cosmic Serenade due a spell and was one run to many, I’ll cop that one on the chin and chalk it up as a trainer error. Was placed well enough and deserves a break. Goes to the paddock a consistent tough horse that’s always been around the mark in good company this prep with another win to her name.
Midnight Boom unfortunately didn’t gain a start in the Bm50 - So contested the much stronger Bowraville cup with horses 25-30 Rating points higher than her. I thought her effort was magnificent and given some room and space to the outside in the straight, she would have finished 2nd/3rd. On times alone she was 9 lengths quicker than the Bm50 on the day. Probably one of her better performances this prep and great to see her still ticking over.

Cosmic Serenade
🚨 Winner 🚨 “Cosmic Serenade” wins impressively to mark a brilliant start to the season, securing her 4th victory for the stable and 9th career win!
Overcoming a wide barrier with ease, she demonstrated a quick start and with a tidy ride by Corey Sutherland always looked the winner & did so it quick time.

Started her preparation off well with 2 tough 2nds and today the step up in distance was relished as were the track conditions. She’s a classy type who I’ve always thought wasn’t given the recognition she deserves and will get her chance now to carry on with it.

“Grey Effects” gets the chocolates first up aided by a nice ride with Danny Peisley in saddle. Always had an opinion of this horse, did think he’d need the run without a trial but 2 jump outs had him forward enough and I’m sure he will take plenty of improvement from today.

Huuuge effort at $101/1 by Affinity Flyer to run into 2nd at Ipswich today whilst also being unlucky. Strong Carnival Metropolitan racing and a very good effort by a filly knee high to a grass hopper. She absolutely deserved her chance in town and was aided by a lovely ride by Jake Bayliss.

“Affinity Flyer” takes out the Criterion Cup at Dalby today for loyal supporters Mandi & Steve Ikin. Jai Williams whom rode a Gold Coast double for the day gave her an absoloute peach for 1195 of the 1200 meters but we’ll forgive him for the last 5 meters… He has a good record with the filly and appreciate him taking the ride today. She has an incredibly consistent record for the stable now reading 12 - 3:2:4
Thank you to everyone back home for the work that goes in, we were very stiff not to come away with a couple of winners this weekend at Beaudesert & Kilcoy but this eases that ever so slightly.

Atomic Selfie
Fantastic to see Atomic Selfie back af the trials for the supportive owners and on the right path. They’re was certainly some very good form out of last prep and was very unlucky to run into Typhoon Tavi and Manhood on multiple occasions.
A spell and some surgery to clean up some joints and she’s come back super.
She also Eyeballed & worked extremely well in company last Tuesday with todays lone runner 🤫.

Trial Review
Watch: Trial Review (REPLAYS & COMMENTS)
Big morning for the team with 11 Trialling at the Gold Coast, Unfortunately no grass but many stepped out for the first time this prep with plenty of positive signs. This will tie in well to a second set of trials at Beaudesert on the Grass on the 9th May.
Tanker - Great to see him back, much more effective on drier ground, this is his prep. We’ll look to give him an easy win ASAP whenever necessary as it’s most deserved.
Fenton - Disappointed last week after a good trial, he can take a run as he did last prep, pleasing to see him attack the line on a quick turn around. Look for him in a fortnight over 1200
Mygirlgladys- Her prep began well last time in with a huge run at Ipswich before a muscular injury plagued her. With plenty of time she looks to have come back well and I’m pleased to reward the patience there.
Swanic Boom - A very sharp trial from Swanic whom is normally very affective over 1400, kept up with some very speedy types. I look forward to her return.
Affinity Flyer - Kept wide to avoid any kick back and she was incredibly strong through the line, returning sub 32 second sectionals after covering lengths more ground. Very happy with that trial and look forward to her stepping up in grade this preparation.
Matte Black - Just wasn’t quite there mentally or physically last time in, has grown into his frame very well after a break, it was pleasing to see him as sharp as he was here today over the 1000. We may need to rethink our game plan distance wise with him as his work all prep has been much sharper. Very nice return, underdone and plenty to come.
Cosmic Serenade - Very nice trial, jag gets on with this horse well and she returns in good order, kept well held and plenty in hand. Times were good and she’s pulled up well, she will look to race over 800 first up before a tilt at the bat out of hell 2nd up on hollindale stakes day at the Gold Coast.
Midnight Boom - A nice trial from a horse
Great to get back to the trials this morning at Beaudesert albeit on a very boggy heavy 9/10. Fenton held together nicely rounded the corner after being pressured throughout. Whilst not at all comfortable on that surface, I was still pleased with his return in what was the 2nd quickest heat of the morning. He’ll head to the races in the next fortnight.
Tanker also trialled this morning in the quickest trial of the morning, he’s not a wet tracker and never has been going on his form, had a very big blow and never looked comfortable. He’ll tighten up from it and we’ll look for something on top of the ground for him, his work at home has been very good so would not be discouraged by his efforts underdone on unsuitable ground.

He’s a Half to Talented Tripple Winning 2yr old “Bangers & Mayo” he is well related and is a fantastic type and we feel he fits the mould to be a very strong force in Queensland 2 and 3 Year Old Metropolitan Mile Races.
This is one of our value purchases to date and that does not reflect this horse at all. He is a Bread & Butter Queensland 2yr Old that was raised on Quality Queensland Pasture. The Breeders have even stayed in on the horse which is a vote of confidence that they would like to support there Bloodstock from Foal to Race Track.

“Trapeze Artist x Quenya” (Chestnut) has finished his educational preparation at Kolora Lodge after we purchased him from the Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney.
He’s broken in fantastic, is very forward, handles his lead changes well and was quite keen to get going when jumping out of the barriers. Very happy with his progress and he’ll enter the stable in the next fortnight too progress on towards the early 2yo Races.
We have a very similar Colt going through the same process right now in the “Speith x Send Us A Sign” and with limited spaces left in him I encourage any interest to get in touch ASAP.
Trapeze Artist x Quenya
Our 1st Breaker of the year getting underway and it’s the Trapeze Artist x Quenya Colt recently purchased out of Inglis Classics who has now started under saddle.
You don’t see them go much better than this for 1st rides. Forward, Sharp and Fluent moving as he was in Sydney.

Where Have We Been !?
Check out the page for the release on the virus that we’ve encountered. This explains the quiet period we’ve experienced in full, the recovery process and how we have handled the situation.
We Ventured out to Kolora this week to check on over 25 horses to reasses when they were to re-enter the stable after a virus has affected us immensely over the past 2 months. And happy to report they will resume training.
As always Horses welfare the first and foremost priority and they’ve all enjoyed 3/4 weeks in the paddock to recuperate whilst the team at home cleaned and prepared for what will shape up to be a very strong team going into the backend of the season.
