It’s always so rewarding when starting the young ones under saddle, but when they are your own baby’s it’s extra special 🥰 🧡

This is Charlie
Charlie came to us for rehab work 1 month ago. His owners bought him 4 months ago and unfortunately he started misbehaving for them.

When he arrived he couldn’t canter to the right at all, his body looked like he was turning left all the time and he was stepping short hind right and also looked uneven in front, he wasn’t willing to stretch his neck and held a lot of tension in his mouth.
With lots of remedial massage work and strength specific ground work we have been able to make him much more comfortable. We are not there yet but definitely on the right track.

As part of our rehab program, we work closely together with our Farrier, body worker, Chiro, vet and also make sure that our horses are on a great diet to support them on their journey.

I finally got there in the end.

This is Ted during his remedial massage today.
Here you can see the endorphins being released which allows Ted to feel relaxed through out, the sleepy eyes, yawning and the muscle softening shows me that his muscles has released.

We like to massage our horses before workout, especially when coming in to work. Helga Riedemann Equestrian

Pete enjoying his morning graze.

In the mornings we like to let our full care agistees out on to the long grass for some grazing.

This type of management can allow horses that are prone to be grass effected with laminitis and/or behaviour issues to still get some grass time.

Did you know that grass is generally lower in sugar during the morning?

This is Kezia on River.
Kezia was visiting the Highlands for the past 6 weeks and decided to have weekly school master lessons here at Lisheen.
At the start of her dressage school master boot camp Kezia was at Novice level and had never ridden laterals or flying changes.

During her time here, she learnt about the importance of the outside rein and the power of power steering that could take her through some pretty amazing feeling shoulder in’s, leg yields, travers and even walk pirouettes all on light aids with the horse travelling in front of the leg.

Today we finished on a high, with Kezia’s first flying change!

What a good girl Miss River is 🥰🥰🥰 🐎

Selling on behalf of owner.

DOB 26/12/2010 Digby is currently in full work and ready for viewing.
He is a registered Riding Pony, Part Welsh and ASPR elite

Digby is a competitive athletic Pony clubber that is well suited for a variety of disciplines. He has jumped up to 1 meter with ease and has a ground covering walk, elastic trot and uphill smooth canter.
Due to his elastic movement he is best suited to a novice/intermediate rider that has their seat established and can hold a nice contact to the mouth.
Digby is also suitable for lunging lessons if you are looking for a horse that will take you to the next level.

While jumping Digby will offer the flying change when changing direction. He has good ground work manners and is easy to handle while grooming, washing, leading, floating etc. He is currently working on his dressage laterals.

Digby has got lots of pony club experience and would suit as a games pony.
Although Digby has not done any barrel racing, he would be well suited to the discipline.

Digby has been kept in group paddocks and also easy to paddock on his own, he is an easy going friendly pony that gets along well with other horses.
