Nearly every evening for eight years I've seen Capaldi do her dinner dance.
No more π₯
Goodbye my darling ππ
This beautiful long haired German Shepherd came in with lots of impacted coat that needed removing! π
He was a big job but such a gentle and patient fellow, an absolute pleasure πΆπ
We split his groom over 2 appointments so it wasn't too overwhelming for him- it was a lot of blow drying and brushing!
Double coated dogs continually shed their dead undercoat (the soft light wispy hairs closer to their body), and shed even more coming into warmer weather!
Impacted coats can occur when instead of falling out and being regularly brushed & combed out, the undercoat sheds but becomes entangled and trapped in the longer guard hair of the dogs coat.
Left ungroomed this coat impaction can eventually lead to severe matting, and if bad enough, the only option would be to shave the dog down short, which is not healthy or ideal for most double coated dogs and can cause complications with regrowth in future.
It was great to be able to fully deshed rather than shave this boys beautiful coat! ππΎ
Moose does not like that clean and freshly groomed scent and would prefer to smell more doggy and earthy π
Do your pups excessively roll around your yard or jump in a puddle of mud after a groom?
Let me know! π I have a wide variety of shampoos to use on your furry friends, including several low/no scent options that may* reduce this behaviour, and are also designed to be extra gentle and hypoallergenic π
*I still haven't found one that Moosedog is entirely happy with the smell of (-or the lack of smell she has after use!)
Her preference is to be a smelly grub covered in dirt whenever possible π
but she is an inside dog and sleeps on my bed... so compromises must be made my dear MooseππΎ
At least I can rest easy knowing I'm guarded by a mighty hunter with strong instincts π
