The new Lepto vaccine has arrived.
I wil be in Goldsborough Valley and Gordonvale tomorrow and Sunday and will get to as many dogs as I can.
Please text me on 0488207212 rather than Facebook message if you are interested. All dogs regardless of previous lepto status require 2 shots 3-6 weeks so will plan the follow at the first visit.
I will be doing them for $100 per shot to visit for 1 dog. Very good discounts for multiple dogs at the same visit.

Paralysis Ticks are well and truly around again. If you have been a bit slack on prevention now is the time to get back on it. If you are unfamiliar with paralysis ticks scroll back through previous posts for more info . I am unable to treat tick cases at your home. Hospitalisation, oxygen, anti serum and sometimes days of care can be needed.
My vet wholesaler obay.com.au has tick preventative for cats and dogs. A very good product for dogs is a sersesto collar.

I am currently away and back from Thursday 23rd. Apologies to those trying to call me, I can not access voice messages til I return and the mail box is now full. But I'll be looking for work as soon as I return! I'm getting inquiries regarding Lepto Australis vaccine availability and unfortunately still have no indication on a time frame. An alternative less common strain/vaccine called C2i is available.

I have spoken to Treidlia Biovet today. The manufacturer of Lepto Australis vaccine. Unfortunately there is no indication on when production will resume. I have also heard from 4 clients whose dogs have contracted lepto recently (Edmonton, Gordonvale)
If your dog experiences anything like fever, vomiting, muscle pain, diarrhoea, inappetence the best hope is to act as quickly as possible rather than a "wait and see" approach. Straight to a clinic.
I will be spreading the word as soon as more vaccine becomes available.
