The new Lepto vaccine has arrived.
I wil be in Goldsborough Valley and Gordonvale tomorrow and Sunday and will get to as many dogs as I can.
Please text me on 0488207212 rather than Facebook message if you are interested. All dogs regardless of previous lepto status require 2 shots 3-6 weeks so will plan the follow at the first visit.
I will be doing them for $100 per shot to visit for 1 dog. Very good discounts for multiple dogs at the same visit.

Paralysis Ticks are well and truly around again. If you have been a bit slack on prevention now is the time to get back on it. If you are unfamiliar with paralysis ticks scroll back through previous posts for more info . I am unable to treat tick cases at your home. Hospitalisation, oxygen, anti serum and sometimes days of care can be needed.
My vet wholesaler obay.com.au has tick preventative for cats and dogs. A very good product for dogs is a sersesto collar.

I am currently away and back from Thursday 23rd. Apologies to those trying to call me, I can not access voice messages til I return and the mail box is now full. But I'll be looking for work as soon as I return! I'm getting inquiries regarding Lepto Australis vaccine availability and unfortunately still have no indication on a time frame. An alternative less common strain/vaccine called C2i is available.

I have spoken to Treidlia Biovet today. The manufacturer of Lepto Australis vaccine. Unfortunately there is no indication on when production will resume. I have also heard from 4 clients whose dogs have contracted lepto recently (Edmonton, Gordonvale)
If your dog experiences anything like fever, vomiting, muscle pain, diarrhoea, inappetence the best hope is to act as quickly as possible rather than a "wait and see" approach. Straight to a clinic.
I will be spreading the word as soon as more vaccine becomes available.

I have seen 3 pure Poodle pups. Dad Rocky and mum Molly. In great health. Over 8 weeks primary vaccination and microchip given. I can pass on details if anyone is interested, please direct all follow up enquiries there.

I have received another update regarding Lepto Australis vaccine supply. Unfortunately they are still completing the accreditation process to continue manufacturing and have estimated a further 6 weeks delay. On another topic I visited 9 magnificent Neo Mastiff pups in Ravenshoe yesterday. Should anyone be interested I can forward on details. I have spoken with Tredlia Biovet this morning about the ongoing supply issues with Lepto Australis vaccine. The expectation is 3 more weeks until they can start rolling out, and will be based on when orders were placed. I will notify as soon as I have some. In the meantime say G'day to Pablo!

I have booked up this week, having a little break later this week.Taking new appointments from Monday August 8th. This is Flash, he was unphased by his needles the other day and wanted to tag along to the next visit.

I am very excited to be off to NZ this week to catch up with my mum and dad and my 3 big brothers. Thunder is on hand to help with bookings through Facebook but I will be using a kiwi sim card til I return to work March 21st.

If you are not already aware paralysis ticks are starting up again. Prevention is always better than treatment and early detection is a key factor in outcomes. Please refer to my post from August 2019 as not much has changed (except maybe my hairline) I am not able to treat tick cases, clinics are the go.
