The very last of the Barton Shelter kitty has been adopted!!!! Huge thanks to Tom’s foster parent who has been so patient, making sure he only goes to the very best home.

Thank you for everyone’s support and shares. We will be posting Tom’s photos in his new home soon!

The Barton Shelter would like to thank all our foster carers, vets, nurses, supporters, donators, you all know who you are and we cannot thank you enough! We wouldn’t have been able to save/ rehome as many animals without all your support.

As some of you know, we have recently moved interstate. We won’t be posting for a while but for those who know us you know this is not the end. We hope to come back in a few years, bigger, stronger and saving more animals! Until then, take care, adopt a cat or two, adopt a golden oldie, adopt and don’t shop!!

Unfortunately Rocky’s adoption fell through☹️. He is the boy with scarring in his right eye. Sometimes it flares up when he is stressed but he is otherwise well and happy, purry baby. Let us know if you are interested 🙂

Unfortunately Billy and Shilo’s adoption fell through. They are still looking for their forever home, please help spread the word. Meanwhile they will go back to their favourite auntie Ann (foster carer) who I’m sure will spoil them until they find ther new homes 🐱

Billy and Shilo the good looking tabbies are ready for their forever home! They have come a long way thanks to our wonderful foster carer! They are a bonded pair and we would love it if they can go together. They have been desexed, microchipped, FIV tested negative, vaccinated and wormed. We hope someone will give these adult cats a chance 🐱❤️

We are so happy to say that Billy, Shilo and OJ have gone to their new home! Thank you for their wonderful foster carers who gave them so much love while they were waiting in foster care!

This sweet little muffin had an accident and managed to break her leg 😢 with the support of the founder of Goulburn cats and generous donations from amazing humans we were able to do a surgery on her sooner rather than later and she is feeling alot better! We are so thankful to all comittee members/ volunteers, foster carers, donators and everyone who supports us by spreading the word. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without all of you. 🐱💕

We had 4 black kittens come in to care not long ago. A kind human has been working with us trying to catch these poor bubbas living outside on their own. They are not ready for adoption yet, they are abit unwell and an amazing vet is fostering them and nursing them back to health. We will post updates when they are ready to go to their forever homes.

This beautiful puppy has been surrendered to us. She was naughty and ate rat poison (this results in clotting abnormalities) and became really sick. She is on the mend thanks to the vets and nurses from . Once she is recovered she will be looking for a new home. Please get in touch if you can help or if you want to help contribute to her treatment fee. This pup wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t because of the team from who has the biggest heart, and the ladies from .petcrisissupport who also donated to us. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Baby found a home! We couldn’t be happier for her. She is already so spoilt by her new mum and dad. To top it off, her biopsy results were clear of cancer! Such a little fighter, she fought on the streets, had her babies, fought through 2 surgeries and blood transfusion, what a brave baby ❤️😺

Blackbeard update! Sweet little bubba had his surgery yesterday, he was such a brave boy and very good through it all. He is recovering well and will be going for a trial and we think the family will fall in love with him because he is just the sweetest thing! An amazing and committed family will be taking him on a trial and looks like he will be so spoilt also so fingers crossed it all goes well!

Hello :) this handsome man is looking for a new home. Unfortunately his family is going through personal circumstances and are no longer able to care for him. They absolutely love him and wants the best for him and so they are looking to rehome him to the best home. He is 3yo Persian with no health condition. He is on dental diet. He does defecate outside the litter tray however and may need some training or have puppy pad next to his litter. Please get in touch if you can help! #

Update on our little hit by car kitten! She is doing well thanks to our wonderful vet who is fostering her (along with her partner who is also a vet whom she keeps asking to help I’m sure!!), look at how cute this little one is! We have called her Clove for now 🐱❤️

This poor little munchkin was found injured after a suspected hit by car. One of my colleagues took her to CVES and she was found to have 3 broken ribs, abnormal air in the chest from trauma, forelimb injury and multiple wounds :’( she had to be on oxygen all night to help her breathing. One of the amazing vets have taken her and continued caring for her at home for the last couple of days. She is recovering well but has a long way to go. We hope that she will continue to improve and eventually find a home for her! Will you help us name this little one?

This sweet boy has been surrendered and will need a new home soon. A kind hooman has brought him here to Canberra for care. He will be getting his eye removed and desexed. He is a little scared so we are giving him some time first to trust us and settle before we do his procedures. We are thinking of calling him Blackbeard (the pirate), what do you think?
