both native and exotic animals, as well as the largest inland saltwater tank in Australia, there is something for everyone. Wander in and have a casual stroll around the park, or make a day of it with family, friends and make use of our picnic areas and complimentary BBQ facilities. This July, ZooFest is back – and it’s wilder, cooler, and more magical than ever! Join us at the National Zoo & Aquarium in Canberra from 5–21 July for a spectacular winter celebration full of entertainment, cosy treats, and family-friendly fun.

Enjoy a range of daily activities throughout the festival period, including:

And while we can’t promise Keeper Luke to wear a Christmas Hat (though you can certainly ask), what we CAN promise is that we are running Special Reptile Keeper Talks from the 07/07-18/07 this School Holiday for Zoofest 🎉

Zoofest Returns to the National Zoo & Aquarium: A Wild Day of Family Fun These School Holidays!

The National Zoo & Aquarium is set to come alive with colour, music and adventure as Zoofest makes its much-anticipated return these school holidays.

A celebration of family, fun and furry (and scaly!) friends, Zoofest promises an unforgettable experience for all ages. Guests can dance like no one’s watching at the silent disco, take part in exciting games and activities, and meet some of the Zoo’s beloved animal residents, mascots, and even dinosaurs that have travelled through time just for the occasion!

Families won’t want to miss a stop at AdventureLand, our newly expanded playground that’s packed with action for little explorers. And when it’s time to refuel, the Rhino Bistro will be serving up a range of delicious holiday food specials and refreshing drinks to keep everyone energised throughout the day.

Whether you're young or just young-at-heart, Zoofest has something for everyone.
Come for the animals, stay for the fun and make lifelong memories at the National Zoo & Aquarium these holidays.

Bring your camera’s and meet co-photographer Kelly at the Rhino Cabana at 10.30am. Keeper Luke will bring some of our wonderful reptiles and Luke will be there to tell you all about the them while you click away.
