Today is day 1 of ‘we start the weaning process’ puppies are firstly introduced to fresh organic Goats Milk. Then once lapping confidently we will be adding in the lightly steamed balanced whole food protein sources from Lyka. Day 2 🙌
This is the second training session I did with Ebony to get her started onto a pivot box. I am just using a block I bought from Kmart 😂🙌 today we started with the blanket but switched fairly quickly to the pivot box. I wanted her on and tomorrow I’ll start getting her into positions where I can use it for heel and various positions for tricks 🙌
Quick training session with Ebony, teaching her the start of ‘foot’ targeting using a blanket that over time I make smaller and smaller.
Once she understands the concept, I’ll swap for a pivot box to start teaching heel position.
But the blanket can also be used to start ‘place’ training, where you teach a dog to go to their bed and stay there. I’ll start showing that in the next video 🙌

Last night was a tough one, temperatures plummeted to -3 around 4 am this morning and it was a struggle to maintain a high enough temperature in the whelping box. My bed is set up right next to the box and I have a thermostat in there to tell me what the temperature is in the middle of the night. Last night I decided to put a blanket over the top of the whelping box and the fan heater from our bathroom in there and sat in them with them for a couple of hours watching the thermometer making sure that it stayed warm enough. It is still so cold outside that I am not bringing the puppies out of the whelping box to weigh them to see how they went overnight until the temperature picks up! Thankfully this seem to work and the puppies actually had a good night sleep nice and warm and snug inside the whelping box! Willow and I have not done any real formal agility training yet as I have been working on her reactivity because if we can’t get her comfortable around dogs and people then it would be unfair to expect her to cope with a competition environment!
However we have done a lot of basic heel work and I’ve been teaching her ‘paws up’ to increase her confidence,so basically if I point at something and say ‘paws up’ she has to jump up on top of it.
I have also been teaching her ‘out’ to help down the line with agility as it tells her to go to any obstacle I point at and around it. We are working on different obstacles and increasing distances. She is getting better as she gets older. Hopefully she will be able to cope around other dogs and people long-term as she is fast and smart and I think would make an amazing little agility dog 😍❤️

Walk out last night with Cheeko and Willow and they had fun chasing ‘birbs’ in this case Choughs (pronounced choffs) who have a very strange cry when disturbed, but how pleased with themselves are they 😂🙌
We find out tomorrow if Miss Jinxx is pregnant!
At this stage our waitlist is now full for these puppies (depending on what colour and sex she has!)

Heel work!
I have been working with Jinxx and Willow independently on this cue to basically go from my right side to my left side in the proper heel position. Jinxx’s cue is ‘Heel’ and willows cue is ‘Close’. Jinx knows this a lot better than Willow does as we’ve been working on it for longer, and Willow has only in the last couple of days picked up what I’m actually asking her to do going from one side to the other while continuing to move forward .
Today I decided to try them both at the same time and see how they’d go and they actually went pretty well for their first attempt LOL.
Today is all about Lyka food because my delivery arrived today!

Who are we?!?!
With so many new followers on here (thank you so much for playing along at home LOL 😂🙌❤️)and with a lot of people not really knowing who we are or what we do,or our background I thought I would put a little bit of a video together.
Obviously I cannot highlight my entire life in a five minute video but it just gives you an oversight of where I’ve come from what my background is why I believe so strongly in Dogs being a person’s secure attachment and how they helped heal me through multiple different traumatic circumstances.
I am always trying to improve and learn and have spent time with multiple different trainers around Australia including Steve Courtney from K9 Pro, Jamie The Dog Trainer and September I am attending a Michael Ellis seminar in QLD. Our dogs mental and physical needs are super important to us, and we are determined to raise our puppies the best way we possibly can with a knowledge and experience that we have put together from a lifetime of working with different animals 🙌❤️

This is a beautiful year old chocolate lab that I’ve been working with for about a month now on his recall and leash walking and he’s come such a long way and he’s such a beautiful boy to work with 🙌
