Only 20% of Orange Cats Are Female!

Female cats have two X chromosomes (XX), while a male cat has one X chromosome and one Y chromosome (XY).

Colour in cats is mostly related to their s*x because the gene causing color is on the X chromosome.

Because a male cat has only one X gene, if that X chromosome has the orange gene, he will be orange.

This means that if an orange female cat has a litter of kittens, all the males will be orange— regardless of their dad’s colour.
But a female cat will only be orange if both of those X chromosomes carry the orange color, meaning both parents must be orange to create an orange female kitten!

Humans have six muscles in our outer ear (pinna). Cats have 32. This anatomy lets them rotate their ears a full 180 degrees! Not only does this allow cats to use their ears to express themselves, they can point their ears towards faint and far-away sounds to hear them more clearly.

This is Major, He’s Marshals brother!Unlike Marshal, Major is a shy boy. He’s pretty good at sneaking up on you to get a sniff or a glance, to check you’re not scary but he isn’t comfortable around you straight away - But today i got a biiiiiig sniff!! We even played chase the greenies! He preferred to just roll in them, but close enough! Big steps for Major!!

Can we talk about this white lion?
Look at him! He’s so perfect, the sweetest fluffy boy… ever! One of my frequent flyers and i couldn’t be happier :) (thanks for always booking me Hara’s parents) he’s the most gentle, loving cat! Can’t wait till i get to visit him 2x a day again. I look forward to it every time!

I absolutely loved taking care of these girls! Both Kaya and Nala are beyond friendly and kind once you gain their trust! Popping in 2x a day was more of a treat for me than it was for them! Can’t wait to sit for them again 😻❤️

Look at these two beautiful boys!! Bambi, (ginger and white) and Meeko, (tabby and white) have both taken my heart! Both shy at the beginning, but within days - my new best friends! The most smoochy, loving boys! Maybe they’re only nice to me because I’m treat lady? Hopefully they think of me as Aunty Mira, because i can’t wait to sit for them again!! 😻😻

I had an amazing time taking care of these two tripod cats!! Both having such loveable, cheeky, hilarious personalities. Always keeping me entertained and on my feet! Even Milhouse didn’t want me to pack up and leave him when the time was over!
