What an incredible first day at the Raise the Bar Breeders Conference! Meeting the amazing Jeanette and Carla from , who traveled all the way to Australia to share their wisdom on the power of a dog, was beyond inspiring. ARE DOGS COLOUR BLIND?

Humans with normal vision contain cones in their eyes that can identify combinations of red, blue, and green. This allows them to see the full range of the light spectrum. People with red-green colour blindness only have two cones, which makes them unable to see reds and greens.

Once it was believed that dogs see everything in black & white but this has been proven false. Dogs possess only two types of cones & can only see blue and yellow - this limited colour perception is called dichromatic vision. It is like human colour blindness.

This means that not only can they not see the colours red or green, but they can't see shades containing either of those colours, such as pink, purple, and orange. Dogs are also unable to perceive subtle changes in a colour's brightness or shade.

Dogs can see shades of yellow, blue and brown, as well as various hues of grey, black and white. This means that if your dog has a red toy, it will appear brown to him, whereas an orange toy, which is a mix of red and yellow, will appear a brownish yellow. It also means that if you want to fully engage all of your dog's senses during playtime, you should look for toys that are either blue or yellow so that they'll stand out from the duller shades of brown and grey in your dog's field of vision.

Our working dog Derek took a turn for the worse over the weekend. He was visibly distressed, refusing to eat or drink much. Initially, we feared it was due to a snake bite, tick, or even encountering a cane toad. We couldn’t find anything. A vet visit was needed, our vet diagnosed him with a testicular abscess requiring emergency surgery. Unfortunately, Derek’s condition is too unstable for the procedure right now. Please keep him in your thoughts as we hope for tomorrow to bring the opportunity for surgery and a successful recovery

🌊 This pup, known as Havoc in the ring, was not just an international champion but also a Supreme Champion in America, Canada, and Australia! 🏆

Sadly, he may be gone, but his legacy lives on through his amazing decendants.

Who knows, we might just have a future superstar in our midst! 😍✨
