Showing Brumbies - Cobbler and Toolibuc

Well what a day! We attended the ABSS Spring Carnival Horse Show. Cobbler is finished showing for this show. Mums mini has another day of showing tomorrow. Yesterday we had pouring rain and Cobblers stable got soaked and so did I 😂.
Cobbler settled in well to his stable yesterday despite the rain and thunderstorms. He decided the bedding straw was more yummy than his lucerne and lick it block 🤦‍♀️.
We had a few hiccups in the ring because of his separation issues. But by the last 2 classes he was great.
Cobbler got:
Best Presented over 18 SCBR,
1st SCBR Gelding,
Reserve Champion SCBR,
4th Led Gelding 4 years and over 14hh+
2nd Led Gelding Dilute 6 years and over
And I got a 2nd for Lady Handler!
Also went in Fashions in the Field, didn't win as there was so many beautiful ladies in stunning dresses but Cobbler and I got a great photo with the photographer so hopefully I'll get to show you it in the coming month.
We love this show and we will hopefully come every year. It's sad that this is apparently the last show in Bendigo as ABSS is moving to Elmore for the next shows in the future.

Echuca/Moama Show!!
What a great weekend. It started off with mum and I setting up camp on Friday at the showgrounds. We had use of the trotters wash bays but Cobbler being Cobbler he did NOT want to have a wash in the bays as it looked very scary. Mum and I tried and tried to get him in but it was to no avail. He did eventually got washed and rugged up though so that's good 😂. After a shower myself and a good sleep in the swag it was 6am Saturday morning which meant it was time to get Cobbler ready. Our first class was the first class in the ring so we needed to get a move on. The morning was nice and cool but after 10am it got into the low 30°s. So Brumby classes were met with a lot of sweat. Classes went so well and Cobbler was so well behaved.
Sunday was mums day with Cliffys and mums mini classes! Mum and Cliffy did so well!!

So you might be asking what Cobbler won! Well he won:
3rd Led Galloway
1st Best Presented Brumby
1st Led Brumby Gelding
Champion Brumby andddd
Supreme Champion Brumby!
Love his first ever flower garland 😍😍

Next show is the ABSS Spring Carnival Horse Show! It's such a big and crazy show I can't wait!

Everyone tucked into bed and ready for tomorrow! Going to be a hot one tomorrow so I need to remember to stay hydrated (that's easier said than done for me 😂). Tomorrow is Cobblers day with our first class being open Galloway then the Brumby classes! Then Sunday is mums and Cliffys day with all the minis and Shetlands! Can't wait to see them all. We're the only horse people here at the moment but Cobbler and Cliffy are enjoying talking to the trotters. Over the fence is the dairy cow people, lovely looking cows and who ever has their phone connected to their speaker is playing some really good country tunes 👌😂.
Also please excuse the gazebo in the middle of the yard, there is hardly any shade here. Thank God we have some bombproof horses who don't care.

Cobram show was a great day! Cobbler really loves going to shows and I'm so grateful to have a horse like him. He's a very clingy boy and absolutely loves meeting new horses and new people. And also loves seeing people and horses he knows as well. But with that comes challenges of him not liking being away from other horses he knows and being alone. He can never be a lone horse.
With that aside, he did very well.
He got 1st Led Galloway (Mare/Gelding/Stallion).
He got Reserve Champion (Hack and Galloway competed against eachother)
And he got 1st Led Brumby!

The Rock show was definitely a win. Although we were supposed to bring both Cobbler and Toolibuc, Toolibuc really didn't want to get on the float at 5am 😂. Cobbler did really well even with the loud music and the Kelpies barking at the sheep. But he really shone in the ring.

Reserve Champion open Led Galloway,
2nd Best Presented,
1st SCBR Brumby Gelding,
Champion SCBR Brumby!

So I finally get the time to post this! We're in the car coming back from the Wagga show. This is a 2 show post as I forgot to post last week 😂
So Finley show was our first show back. The day was great with the sun shining. Cobbler won 1st Galloway Gelding, 2nd any other breed and Reserve Champion.

Yesterday was Wagga show. It was the complete opposite to Finley. It was cold and rainy and Cobbler and I were having a complete meltdown over it all but we eventually got out there 😂🤦‍♀️. Cobbler won 4th Best Presented and 2nd Gelding.
I had to put in this video of one of the trotters that lives there. It loved sticking its tounge out 😂😂

Home time! Was a great day today at Holbrook Show. Even though there was a bit of waiting around.
Cobbler won
1st Open Galloway Gelding,
1st SCBR Best Presented,
1st SCBR Adult Handler,
1st SCBR Led Gelding and SCBR Champion!
He was so well behaved and such a lovely horse to have. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos but I'll take a picture of all the ribbons when I get home!

So haven't posted in awhile but here's our last outing. Today we went to the Tumbarumba Show. Cobbler was very well behaved compared to Gundagai. He also did really well in his classes.
He got 1st in Galloway Gelding and also won Champion Galloway.
In his Brumby classes he won 2nd Best Presented, 2nd SCBR Led Gelding and also Reserve Champion SCBR.
Now it's off to Holbrook for their show tomorrow! Can't wait!

Bit of a different show than the normal Ag shows. Attended Pegasus Miniture Horse and Pony Christmas show. Was a stinking hot day so didn't get many pictures at all. We were too busy showing our boys and then laying in the shade on breaks. We also got up at 3am for this show so we were so tired.
Cobbler got:
🥈in Adult Handler
🥇in Male Horse/Pony NE 14hh, he also got Champion
🥈in Best Solid Any Other Colour
🥉in Classic Head NE 14hh
And 🥇in Classic Trot and also Supreme Champion!
The judge really loved his trotting!
We also had a go at the performance classes, we were both so tired and hot so we didn't go too well but at least we had a go.

A quick hay and water break before our last class then it's time to get ready for fashions in the field.
My plaiting and rosetting skills are definitely not up to par but can't kick myself down when we've done so well already! And couldn't get any pictures out there yet as I'm so busy but there's heaps of photographers here!

Got to have a little ride on Cobbler today! He did well, since he's lost weight he needs a new gullet in his saddle so the ride was a bit uneasy and he was still getting used to being home and being back with his brothers so he just wanted to be back with his boys.
Wanted to ride him in the round yard but unfortunately that paddock is flooded and the only riding paddock not flooded or muddy was the shed paddock 😭 but even with that he did great! We even tried a couple different bits to see how we go.

Oh and mum also got to have a ride!!

We were hoping to go to Wagga show this weekend but unfortunately it got cancelled 😭. So tomorrow I'm hoping to hop on him and ride him. The only problem is I gotta find a dry spot. Rennie is very wet at the moment

So today's show was a bit different! We did a Pegasus Miniature Horse & Pony Club Inc Shows show! So Cliffy and mum did very well of course haha. Toolibuc and I didn't do too badly getting two 1sts, a reserve champion and a champion!
I think Toolibuc is getting used to this showing thing.

Didn't get too many photos this time but at least I got some 😂
So today was Culcain Show! Was a great day with some weird weather, but luckily when it came to our classes it was nice and sunny.
Toolibuc got a 2nd in the Led Galloway and another Reserve Champ 😂
Then in the Brumby classes he got 2nd in Best Presented and 1st in Led Brumby Gelding and he got Champion! I'm so proud of my boy! We still have so much to work on but I'm still proud of how far he's come. From a scruffy little boy to a beautiful shiny Brumby.
Next show is Walbundrie show on Monday! We're having a rest day tomorrow 😂

Finally home and that means photo time! Woke up early this morning to find Toolibuc had actually moved his hood around, thankfully he didn't rip it (yay!), then after he quickly loaded on the float we went to Yarrawonga.
Rings didn't start till 9 so we were good on time. Got him all shiny and plaited up. Then got myself ready. First class was Led Galloway and he got 2nd and Reserve Champ. Second class was Led Any Other Breed, he went head to head with a beautiful Warmblood with great bloodlines and flowy movement. The lovely Warmblood came away with champ and my boy came away with another reserve champ. Toolibuc did so well for being his 2nd show! He stood patiently waiting for our classes.
So for now it's time to rest up and recover my blisters and then Culcain tomorrow!

So with Yarrawonga show tomorrow we're getting ready. After having work this morning, I got to mums and got to work 😂 a quick wash for Toolibuc then onto his plaits and rosettes. Unfortunately my phone died so this is the only photo we got 😂 Now I though Cobbler had a thick mane but this boys mane is THICK hahhahah. So his rosettes are a bit chunky but oh well haha and I was doing them in the dark so they might be a bit wonky as well 🤷‍♀️.
Right now he's all rugged up and a slinky hood. I'm hoping to god it's all in one piece tomorrow morning 🙏.
Following Yarrawonga show is Culcain show on Saturday, if it's not cancelled (will find out tomorrow). Then on Monday it's Walbundrie show! Busy weekend!

So I just thought I should make a page for my horsey babies, Cobbler (from Long Plain Kosciosko, Mother was trapped and then he was born on the Hoofs2010 inc Brumby Rescue when they were situated in the Hunter Valley), Toolibuc (From Bago VIC, born wild, trapped on private property and brought to HOOFS2010 a couple years ago in Berrigan.).
This is my first show year of ever showing horses. For first part of my show season I shown Cobbler, he did so well. So for the next part of the season I'm showing Toolibuc as Cobbler will be going to the trainers this month for a few weeks! So since I have so many shows coming up I'd love to show everyone how I show my boys! Since it's still my first year I'm still learning but aren't we all? 😂
