🎀ABSS Spring Carnival Horse Show 🎀

This year this great show was at Elmore! At the beautiful equestrian park. And with tradition every year the weather really doesn't hold back with 37 degree heat on the Friday, 38 degree heat on the Saturday and pouring rain on the Sunday! The heat didn't stop many people including mum and I from attending! It was a great turn out of people and horses along with some highly respected judges. Cobbler and I had many classes and placing in all of them! I'm so proud of him! We won:

1st SCBR Best Presented
1st SCBR Led Gelding
And Champion!
3rd Led Galloway over 14hh and under 14.2hh
2nd Led Gelding 6 years and over Solid Coloured Dilute
And Reserve Champion Solid Coloured Dilute!
1st Lady Handler.
We didn't win anything in Fashions in the Field but it's okay! We both strutted our stuff 🥰.
So pleased with the outcome of the weekend and can't wait to see the photos the professional photographer took!
A big thank you to my mumma for putting up with me and helping me so much and also thank you to the organisers of the ABSS Spring All Breeds show, you guys have done it again on putting on a great show and making sure everyone was hydrated!
And a thank you to Stephen Valentine for putting the braids in to Cobblers mane and for all the tips and tricks for some good looking braids!

A couple videos from the weekend. 1st one is me trying to get Cobbler to stand square and the 2nd one is the boys and the fireworks! I must say that horse earplugs are the best invention 😂

So I've been so so slack and haven't been posting the results from the last few shows and haven't been putting up photos cause I hardly had any but now I have a few thanks to Shalise Davenport! She's absolutely great at photos and she really needs to get a business up and running! And also thanks to mum for a few photos as well and just generally being a great mum!

So the first show was Ariah Park, please correct me if I'm wrong as I don't 100% remember what we got 😂:
3rd Fashions in the Field, 18 years and over.
3rd SCBR Best Presented
2nd Led SCBR Gelding
2nd ABHR Led Gelding

Reserve Champ ABHR Led

And Champion SCBR Led!
Also we took the fabulous Dabby and he won:

3rd Led Galloway
1st Led Brumby

I hope I got all of this right because my memory isn't the best 😂 but I'm constantly proud of my boy even with his attitude... like owner like horse aye? 😂

Well it was a hugeeee weekend for Cobbler and I. First up was the Brumby Riding Club Inc’ Vic 2024 Wrangler Jayne Clinic on the Sunday. It was great to learn different techniques with natural horsemanship and also see what my boy can do. He's definitely not scared of teddies or stuffed dinosaurs 😂 he even put his hoof in a hole a few times. Nothing fazes or scares him! He really is such a brave and curious boy! I'm so proud of him at the clinic.

On Monday morning he got his second ever clip. This time he got a full body clip and I must say that he just looks like a different horse but I love it 🤩. He will lose the sandy colour in a week and a bit but I kinda like it 😂 also I just love how brumbies are always so shiny and healthy! He doesn't get any hay or a hard feed. Just the beautiful grass at mums place.
He did so so well for his second ever clip! His head was probably the hardest bit but I've definitely seen horses react 100x worse 😂. It helped that the lady clipping him was so good with him and did such a great job! I highly highly recommend High Country Horse and Pony Clipping for your horse and Pony clipping needs! She even made Cliffy a beautiful boy 😂🥰.

Washed and all settled in for Brumby Riding Club Inc’ Vic 2024 clinic with Wrangler Jayne tomorrow at the beautiful Luna Meadows Equestrian Centre. I think Cobbler has made friends with the horses in the next paddock 😂

Took us awhile to get here, my car decided that it didn't want to go over 70kmh on the freeway with a float and a chunky monkey Brumby 🤦‍♀️ so Mum came and saved the day and towed Cobbler to here. Love you Mum! 🥰

It's been a big day! First up was Leneva Park Pre-training facility. Lots of beautiful horses. Next we went to Nagambie for lunch and I saw the Black Caviar statue! Then we went to Swettenham Stud and saw some beautiful studs. Didn't get to see Puissance De Lune though cause he didn't want to come in from his paddock 😂🤦‍♀️. Then onto Darley which is a Godolphin Stud! Was an absolutely beautiful facility and so well set up. We went through to the breeding barns and got to go in the Stallion Stables and met with Cylinder who is standing at stud for his first time for a stud fee of $44,000. And also met with Street Boss who is 20 years old and still going strong! Street Boss is also the Sire of Anamoe who is their most successful Sire!

So some may know that I'm doing my Cert III in Equine Studies! Today we're doing our stud tour. I was up at 6am today to...

Just a little memo to all the people wanting the Brumbies shot, here's some pictures of what you want shot. A girls dream horse, a girls first ever horse, a girls happiest moments when with her horse. If I didn't have this Brumby in my life I don't know where I would be. I for sure wouldn't be wining ribbons at every show I go to. That's what this horse is. A Brumby...

So on the 26th was the last day of training for Halo and I. Took us 6 weeks of two sessions a week at around 45mins - 1 hour a session to get to the point where Halos owner was happy and able to do the things they wanted to do with her. I'm so proud of not only myself but the beautiful Halo. She is one of the smartest horses I've met and loved every minute of our sessions as she picked up things so easily. I can't wait to see what becomes of her when she grows up. I said to her owner that if there were any problems to come up that I'd be happy to go back out and sort it out. Her owners are also going away next month and they will be having some people look after their place and horses, I offered to come and help out for any reason just incase something was to happen. You never know with horses 😂🤦‍♀️.

So to end I'd love to say that if anyone around my area needs any help with their horses, young or old, I'd be happy to offer my services. Anything from haltering, leading, floating or even getting ready for the saddle by doing the right ground work.
I thank Halos owners for allowing me to train this beautiful girl 🥰

Tumbarumba show!
One of my favourite shows. Always a good turn out of brumbies and at a beautiful ground. The program was jam packed full of classes for Cobbler and I to do.
Cobbler and I won,
1st Led Open Galloway Gelding
Reserve Champion Open Galloway
1st Best Coloured Brumby
2nd ABHR Led Gelding
Reserve Champion ABHR
3rd SCBR Best Presented Brumby and
2nd SCBR Led Gelding!
By the last class both Cobbler and I were buggered and out of breath as the open and the Brumby classes were so close together 😂.

I wish to thank my mumma bear for always helping me out at shows and doing everything! And to Alesha for the photos 🥰

⭐️ Weekly Training Post ⭐️

Tuesdays session started out great. Walked up to Halo in her paddock and just popped the rope over her neck and then went back to showing her the halter. She was a bit hesitant at first but we got it on with no trouble. We then did some work with pressure and release and also tried some backing up and she did great. We also worked on moving the hindquarters and she did great with that as well! She knew her cues to move. We did some walking around the paddock and she was a bit scared at first but after a second she nailed it.

Today's session didn't start out so easy. We had a change in weather so I think she was a bit antsy. Which is okay! We went back into the small yard and worked on facing up again and then after a little I popped to rope over and it was time for the halter again. This time she didn't mind the halter at all. I think she's starting to like it 😂. Once the halter was on we went back out into her paddock and walked around for a bit then worked on stopping on lead on cue which she did well. So then I went on to patting all around her and giving her some big scratches. She was a bit weary of where my hand was going but she didn't mind too much.
She's such a funny girl and I absolutely love working with her!

⭐️Weekly training post⭐️
Thursdays training session went well with getting the rope around her neck and doing some more pressure and release techniques. She is a real smart girl and learned it really quickly. Facing up and relaxing.

Today's session was all about the halter and realising that it's not so scary as she thinks. And after a couple tries, we got it on! She thought it felt a bit funny but got used to it. We did a little bit of pressure and release with the halter and she of course did so well since we did a lot of that with the rope. I took the halter off slowly and without her having a fuss about it. We left it at that as she did so so well. Can't wait to see how far she comes because she's already have come such a long way!

The photo from the Tumut show. Was a great show and very well run. Thank you so much to Sal for allowing Brumbies to be in the schedule. And thank you to the mother/daughter duo who judged and stewarded the ring. They were both so lovely!
