CARE recently celebrated 3 of our vets achieving their Membership qualifications in Emergency and Critical Care! Dr Jarryd, Dr Stellar and Dr Summie all put in many hours of study and sat 3 gruelling exams to have their level of knowledge and dedication in this field recognised. The membership qualification indicates more advanced knowledge and experience in a particular area of study, and this recent success brings our total number of membership recognised vets in the emergency and critical care department up to 6, ensuring no matter the time of day or night, we have the knowledge and skill to take the best care of your pet possible.

Our Story

The Centre for Animal Referral and Emergency (CARE) is a veterinary specialist and 24-hour emergency centre, situated in Collingwood by Melbourne's CBD. CARE provides gold-standard specialist and emergency veterinary care to the pets of Melbourne.

Services offered include: - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and emergency centre, staffed 24 hours a day / 365 days a year. - Specialists in surgery, internal medicine, neurology, radiology, and emergency & critical care. - Advanced patient monitoring. - Diagnostic imaging, incl. digital X-rays, ultrasound, and CT scanning. - In-house laboratory.

Our objective is to provide diagnostic and treatment plans which will help achieve the best possible outcomes for each case. We consider the unique requirements of each individual pet, their owners and their primary care veterinarian.

Specialists We have grown rapidly to a large group that includes eight specialists. The specialists referral team encompasses surgery, medicine, emergency and critical care, diagnostic imaging and neurology. We accept referrals Monday to Friday during business hours for our referral services.
