Seriously, it’s a bit less scary when you put some science into it. A grass budget, matching the grass quality to the class of stock to get the result, a short way out if the trade (or a way to reduce stocking rate) if it all goes south and most of all, a plan!

Are you getting bush ticks on your dogs, horses, goats, cattle, sheep and even kids??!!
We’ve had quite a few reports in north west NSW. It’s always good to rule out nastier ticks like cattle or paralysis ticks, but bush ticks are just mostly a blood sucking annoyance.

On 20 and 21 November, we'll be running workshops focused on improving your knowledge of ruminant nutrition at Kelvin and Bellata.

The practical workshop will be delivered by Dr Jillian Kelly of AHN Consulting, a veterinarian and ruminant nutritionist with almost 20 years' experience.

We'll cover:
🐑 rumen function and the basics
🐄 weaning - transition from milk to grass
🚜 maximising paddock feed
🌱 managing green feed
🐮 mineral supplementation
