Wild wild weather today!
What’s is like at your place?
Thank you 🙏
To the lovely ladies from the St Helens Cowboy Dressage study group who put together an amazing come and try day at Brook Cottage yesterday.
We had a lovely group of riders and fence sitters who were treated to a fantastic introduction to cowboy dressage. Extremely well thought out and organised - food was amazing - and attention to detail was spot on.
Everyone had a really great day!
The supportive, encouraging and kind environment for the riders as well as the inclusion of the fence sitters into the day was possibly the best I have personally experienced. I am super grateful for all their hard work, respectful manner and good fun along the way.
If you haven’t tried this discipline and are looking for something fun, supportive and totally inclusive then this may be the sport for you!
Well done everyone that came, organised and participated - it was a super fun day 😄
Thanks to Alison & Tara and all the study group ladies. Stay tuned for some great action shots!

How is your training going?
Today I want to highlight the great commitment to training of a lovely student and her beautiful horses.
Scarlett has worked extremely hard on her training and her mindset to achieve some great goals 🏅
This team are a great example of the rewards that come with
“doing the work”
and I am extremely proud of them.
Here is a snippet of their training success. They have established some solid responses and you can see how these can be used under pressure.
As always, training is an ongoing process and this lovely pair can now reach for some bigger goals.
What are your training goals?

What a beautiful evening 😇

Are you looking for an adventure with your horse?
We have some amazing trails to explore that include farm history, forest trails and loads of varied terrain.
Here is a sneak peak of one of our great explorer trails - watch out for the video showcasing this particular adventure.
Are you and your horse prepared for an emergency?
Today, I experienced an emergency situation with one of my horses. I am located somewhat remotely and there is no local vet.
Equine Emergency Response Training from Dr Lizzy McCready was my starting point (highly recommended), horse health assessment then call the vet.
2.5 hours in the float to get to the vet, made possible by consistent ground work and float training - this made my horse easy to handle by myself and the vet, and allowed my horse to receive the best possible care (many thanks to Vet in the Valley 🙏).
Please prepare yourself and your horse - education is the key!
Training is not just for training sake - train for safety and essential care - a calm, fun horse is a side effect 😄

I would like to send a huge thank you to all the amazing guests we have hosted this year - sometimes the weather doesn’t play nice but having amazing people here that embrace the space anyway is very heartwarming .
A beautiful group of ladies this weekend and their absolutely adorable ponies came to stay and left me with the most beautiful gift along with their company and kindness. This is why I do what I do so thank you for just being amazing 🙏
Our website is currently unavailable so Isla kindly emailed me her review!
This farm is a real gem if you are serious about having a real getaway from everything. It's off the main tourist routes yet easy to get to the local town Swansea, to stunning Freycinet and all the east coast towns in Tasmania. The cottage is gorgeous, comfortable and while beautifully decorated it has an old world charm. And the best beds. We were lucky to get stunning weather with wonderful open expanse of sky in the broad river valley. Tracey and Allan great hosts and good for a yarn. If you want peace, this is the place to go. Looking forward to my next visit.
If you are looking to visit, send me a message!
Great day today hosting the lovely staff from Piermont learning about communication and horses.
Want to give your staff a unique experience learning something new and having some hands on with the animals? Enquires welcome.
Take a look at my office this afternoon - if you would like to come and see what we can offer, please get in touch - inspection by appointment is most welcome.
Beautiful afternoon at Brook Lodge - lovely ride on the river flat with the hairiest horse ever 😄
