Colt - Unite and Conquer (Aus) / Sunday Special (Big Brown) - foaled 3 Oct 2023
This strong, athletic colt is by promising sire Unite and Conquer. In a short but very impressive career, he won the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at Flemington by 2.25 lengths on debut and remained undefeated as a pre-Christmas 2YO, defeating Exhilarates in the Listed Wyong 2YO Classic.
Unite and Conquer is half-brother to SP Mission Value (3d ATC Inglis Nursery, RL), grandson of SW Danglissa (AJC Flight S., Gr.1), a three-quarter-sister to SW Danzippo (Newcastle JC Newmarket H., Gr.3) and closely related to SW Sweet Redemption.
Unite and Conquer's oldest progeny are 2YOs. The first 2023 two year-old trial in Australia was won by a Unite and Conquer, Switch to Go, and the fastest breeze up at the October 23 Inglis 2YO sale was a Unite and Conquer, who then sold to Hong Kong for $110,000. Unite and Conquer is the sire of placegetters What a Doozy, City United and Conjoin.
The colt's dam, Sunday Special, is a well raced country mare by the American stallion, Big Brown. He had 8 starts for 7 wins and US$3,614,500. In 2008 Big Brown won the Florida Derby, Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, Haskell Invitational Handicap and Monmouth Stakes.
Big Brown is proven sire. He led the New York regional sire list in 2015 and 2020. As of May 6, 2023, he has sired 34 stakes winners in the Northern Hemisphere. His progeny performance statistics continue to make him one of the top 15 leading sires in the New York state.
His Australian stakes winners include Brown Ben (1st - 2017 Tokyo City Cup LR, 1st - 2019 Heiniger Balaklava Cup LR), Neverland (1st - 2015 Make Your Own Magic-Challenge LR, 1st - 2015 Carbine Club Of W.A. Stakes LR), Darwin (1st - 2014 Belgrave Stakes LR), Dawnie Perfect (1st - 2015 N.Z. Bloodstock Ethereal Stks Gr3), Nancy (1st - 2016 2016 Godolphin Crown Gr3) and Send It In (1st - 2017 Excelsior Stakes Gr3).

Tools Down is so willing, a very calm and trainable ott. This is his first cross country clinic AND his first jump under saddle. Thank you to Grainne Attwell for the relaxed and helpful outing. Tie is looking for his new π‘.
Tools Down (2017, Written Tycoon/It's Poets Day) was a successful racehorse with 2 wins, 3 seconds and a third from 14 starts. He retired in August 2022, had a spell and joined the team in June 23. He is so easy to work with and has been on tons of outings as the quiet companion for my big baby. He attended his first dressage competition earlier in the year and then I focused on others for a few months. This week I rode him twice at home and took him to AELEC to have a ride around the arena whilst the big horses jumped. He jumped hi first cross rail in the big atmosphere with no drama at all. Such a willing horse, happy to do whatever is asked! He is looking for a new human to continue his training. He has a few cute quirks that I am happy to discuss.
