There's a match made in heaven for everyone. Sweet little Abu found his furever home this afternoon. He's been with us since coming in as a kitten. Clearly the right hooman just hadn't arrived until today. We've just had a message from Mum with a wonderful picture showing a very happy and relaxed Abu.
Not a dry eye on the house!

We have received word that Microchipping organisation, HomeSafeID has gone into receivership.

This is a national company and you may be effected whether your pet was registered in the NT or not.

🐾How to change your pet’s microchip registration:

If you are unsure with whom your pet is registered, visit www.petaddress.com.au and enter your pet’s microchip number. If it is HomeSafeID you can use one of the Registries below to create an account and register your pet. We recommend Central Animal Registry.

🐾What is my pet’s microchip number?

If you don’t know your pet’s microchip number or have lost their paperwork with their registration details, contact your veterinarian, council or animal shelter. They can scan your pet and provide the microchip number.

🐾Check your pet’s microchip details when changing registry
Have you changed address? Updated your phone number or has your pet changed ownership? Ensure the details on your pet’s microchip are correct when you change to a new microchip registry.

🐾What does it cost to change to another microchip registry?
Changing to a new microchip registry will cost. It is a small fee, but if your pet goes missing and their microchip isn’t registered, it can be harder to reunite them with you.

🐾While RSPCA NT cannot update your pet’s microchip details for you, we can help you find your pet’s microchip number and answer any questions you may have on (08) 8984 3795.

Not to be outdone by the non-existent monsoon, we will be closed to the public today for staff training. WE HAVE THE COOLEST SHED IN TOWN! 🥶

A MASSIVE thank you to the legendary team at Johnny Cool Darwin ❄️
After hearing about our storage shed plight (temperatures were reaching over 40 degrees making some food unusable!), they reached out to Mitzubishi for a 9KW system. They then installed it for us, free of charge!

Johnny Cool have been longtime supporters of us and we could not be more grateful. Their generosity and standard of work are second to none- thank you team! 💙

The story of Birdie, Bento, Banshee & Toto 💚

Four orphaned kittens that came into our care in September.

This group earned the hearts of everyone they encountered. Since being hand raised, they have learnt how to walk, play and have even been on the radio (thanks to Mix 104.9!). 🐾

🎅'Tis The Season! 🎅
The Christmas decorations are up and the shelter is full! 🐾

If you’re willing and able to assist this festive season, we have created a ‘Christmas Wishlist’ of the most in demand toys and treats that our shelter animals love! 💚

Christmas donations can be made to our shelter at 80 Boulter Road, Berrimah.

All good things come to those who wait. After a whopping 518 days in the shelter, Busta has found his furever home with the best family. He and Turtle fell in love at their meet and greet and we suspect they tugged on Dad's heartstrings a bit too. Words cannot express how happy we are Busta.
