IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT MICROCHIPS
We have heard rumblings for the last few months that Home Safe ID, who are a microchipping company, have closed down (or are closing down). Petaddress is no longer dealing with them.

We have not been able to contact them vis email or phone.

If your dog/pets are registered with them you will need to change to another company, as they will no longer be able to see your details when scanned if your pets are lost etc.

Now is a good time to check where your pet's chip details are held or get your pet microchipped.

To find out where your chip details are held you can go to www.petaddress.com.au

You can change to either Central Animal Records (CAR) for a fee of $12 or to AAR Australasia Animal Registry.

Please check, even if your dog's details are registered with your council, if your dog manages to go out of the council area, the chip will most likely not be traceable.

FROM EGG TO AIR
( peanuts Journey)
In early October, due to a government deforesting project, I received over 40 tiny parrots ( 27 Eastern Rosellas and 13 red rump parrot) chicks, 22 baby Galahs, and 2 Sulphur Cockatoo hatchlings and 9 eggs, My time an resources were stretched to the limit. Of the 9 eggs 7 were viable, on day 3 in care they started to hatch. The first to emerge I dubbed Peanut as the size fitted. This is his progress over 10 weeks from hatchling to release, a very bitter sweet day.

It may be getting close to Christmas 🎄 but here at our cat rescue side if things it's kitten season. We are being inundated with litters needing rescue. This includes round the clock bottle feeding for some of the teeny tiny soles who come in to care.

We are desperately seeking foster carers who could help raise kittens from around 6 weeks to the point they can be adopted and go off to their new loving homes.

If you or someone you know can help please let us know. It's a very rewarding role.
All kittens pictured will be available for adoption once old enough and have had their vet work completed.

In late September, we were contacted about twin lambs born at a slaughterhouse.

Harlequin and her brother Hendrix arrived in our care in desperate condition - both were weak, and Harlequin was unconscious.

Fortunately, over the past weeks, these resilient lambs have been gaining strength and making remarkable progress.

However, upon their arrival, we discovered that Harlequin had a deformity, causing her to urinate upwards.

We initially suspected a prolapse and promptly took her to the vet for a thorough assessment.

The vet determined that Harlequin requires corrective surgery to protect the exposed area and to redirect her urine.

We estimate the cost of this procedure to be around $1,000, though it may be higher depending on the findings during surgery.

We are deeply committed to ensuring that Harlequin receives the surgery she needs to lead a long and fulfilling life.

As a solo-run, self-funded sanctuary, we continue to face financial pressure.
