This is what happens when you don't comb out or have your dog regularly groomed through winter. Not only is it very uncomfortable & painful for your dog having the hair matted & pulling at the skin, it can also harbour really long nails that you can't see & sores from grass seeds or just from the matting being so tight & pulling on the skin to cause skin conditions. As you can see from these photos it's much better & nicer for your dog to be groomed regularly through winter or to keep them clipped shorter & wear a coat rather than thinking a matted painful coat is better for them to keep them warm

Would just like to let everyone know with the rising cost of supplies, equipment maintenance, electricity etc I will be increasing my prices as of 1/1/23 some prices will go up by $10 others will increase more.
All grooms will be priced by weight of dog & not breed so under 10kg, 10-19kg & over 20kg these prices are based for 1 hour of time, longer times will be charged accordingly. Starting prices are for short summer cuts, longer style cuts will be a higher price.
Hygiene grooms are based on 45mins so if long coats & take an hour they will be charged at full groom price
Double coat desheds/grooms will be charged by size at full grooming price per hour.
Matted dogs will be charged at the 1hr price plus a $20-30 fee on top of that depending on severity of matting

Just wanted to share this & show everyone the process of a really nice neat groom. To get this type of groom your dog has to be really calm & relaxed & use to being still for the grooming process. To get this type of groom your dog needs to be groomed on a schedule of a maximum every 4 weeks, dogs that only get groomed a few times a year will never put up with this type of process & owners can not expect a really nice groom like this. Any dogs that are only groomed every 12wks or more are usually only cooperative for a basic shave down & not a styled groom which also stands for dogs that have not been professionally groomed since a young puppy being 12-16wks of age at the beginning if not earlier & kept on a really regular schedule, anything after 16wks & alot of dogs becomes fearful & difficult to groom as they have not become accustomed to the process at a young age. This is why if you want a cute puppy clip or a nice scissor finish your dog needs to be groomed very regularly from a young age. I am always more than willing to work with young dogs to get them to this stage if booked in on a regular basis but once they are past 6mths old it can become extremely difficult to get them accustomed to being this relaxed with grooming. Some dogs being groomed for the 1st time after 5-6mths of age will never be relaxed with the grooming process which is why it's so important to get pups in when they are young so they can learn it's a process but a positive one.
