Who is The Nurse Groomer?
Hi to all my Furfamilies and Newbies!
I get asked a lot about my business name and what it means, so thought it’s about time to share my story with you all. I’m am a Clinical Nurse Specialist- Specialising in Cardiology (my original passion) nursing for approx 19 years! I’m a wife, mother to 10yo twins and mum to my 2 babies (cavoodles) Bonnie & Olive.
Bonnie came into our lives and changed our world and since I have become a Licenced Cavoodle Breeder with 23 grand-puppies and decided that although I am slowly giving the breeding process up- I still love dogs! And I love them so much, so the Idea of grooming made perfect sense. I opened my grooming business ‘The nurse groomer’ late last year and have since had the privilege of getting to know so many of you and your babies.
When you visit me, your dogs are treated with love and kindness. I don’t cage the dogs at all, I allow them to explore the yard and socialise while they are here (I can separate them in different sides of the yard if this is preferred) but they are not caged up while waiting their turn or waiting for collection like most salon groomers. I want the dogs to feel safe and comfortable here.
A lot of you will know that your dogs don’t always want to leave after a groom here haha, some put their breaks on and want to stay and play longer.
I still currently nurse aswell as grooming. For me Grooming isn’t the job I have to get up to everyday to make ends meet- Grooming is my creative hobby time and I do it because I truly love dogs and their gorgeous innocence.
Hope yall find this comforting xx
Ps. It’s very rare we get a second to chill in the acute hospital setting, so some music and a quick boogie is great fuel for the soul
