Update: Latte has been adopted 6.5.23.
Introducing the lovely Chow Chow, Ms. Latte! This majestic breed hails from ancient China and boasts a lion-like appearance.
Latte is five and half years old and weighs just under 28kgs.
Ms. Latte is looking for a new family that will be able to provide her with the care, support, stability, and patience that she needs. Latte isn’t just a big gorgeous floof, and there are a few things she would like you to know about her before you consider applying to adopt her.
Firstly, she isn't entirely comfortable around crowds or loud places, and meeting over-exuberant dogs isn't her thing. That being said, she may get along well with an independent dog that values their personal space.
Latte can be easily overwhelmed by being touched or hugged (as it’s not something she has had much exposure to), so understanding her need for personal space is important.
It's also important to note that grooming Latte's coat requires a significant commitment. While her coat may impress you, it requires daily handling. Latte has had limited exposure to grooming so will need desensitisation to it. That process will take time and patience, and it's not negotiable. Additionally, her double coat sheds and drops onto everything it touches, and it cannot be shaved off. Your home will undoubtedly be filled with a soft coating of ‘latte art’ within no time! Her ears, skin folds, under tail, and paws will need daily management and monitoring as well.
Latte has just had surgery with us to remove excess skin from her eyes that was inhibiting her vision (hence the shaved face).
It's worth noting that these behaviours are specific to Ms. Latte, and they may not necessarily be present in other Chow Chows. If you think your home may fulfill these requirements and you're interested in learning more about Latte, please don't hesitate to enquire via phone to our Hobart Home. However, please understand that we won't be able to provide any information about her history or breeder.
If you are interested in meeting Latte, please use the link below to submit an ‘Expression of Interest’ (EOI). Please include as much detail as you can about the life you could provide for Latte. Staff from our Hobart Home will contact those suitable to chat and arrange an appointment.

Please note:
- we can only accept EOIs under the correct dog's name. Please don't select another dog's name in the drop-down menu.
- if you cannot see the dog's name in the list, it's because we have hit the max number of EOIs that we are able to accept for that dog.
- we may not be able to contact all unsuccessful applicants.
- we understand you may want to increase your chances of being selected as a new fur parent but contacting us to reiterate information in your application only takes us away from our doggie duties and does not increase your chances. Thank you for your understanding.
