Good morning everyone, hope everyone is well. So it has been a busy year, unfortunately that being said, I have had to put some training on hold, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. So anyone who wishes to train or knows someone who is interested in having their K9 trained, please let me know.

Well here we go again! The start to another big year. I'd like to take this moment to congratulate all of my clients and their dogs that have reached that point in training where they can continue on their own.

Well done guy's, it's been a honour to work with you and I'm amazed at just how far each of you have come. Keep it up!

So in saying that, we now have a few new clients and their dogs starting with us! Keep a eye out for posts and follow their progress.

Also just to let everyone know we will be starting a dog awareness training for little kids this year. This will consist of involving your children with the training of your dog, showing them the right and wrong ways to be around your dog and showing them way's to protect themselves against excited dogs. By teaching them these simple tips, it will be enough to give your child the confidence to be around your dog as well as being able to protect themselves.

So if anyone is interested in this type of training, please do get in contact.

Mossy in action again!

Working on stay and come commands. He started off a bit ugly, but Mossy finally got the idea 😅

Now all we need to do is work on mums timing and voice affliction 👏🏽 little Mossy is starting to get the picture and at the end of our session, we finished on a win 🏆

Great session with Loki and his mum yesterday, although Loki is still not appreciating the training 😂

He is picking up on it well. Stay, sit and down have come along way and lead walking is great, just need to catch mum up to Loki 😅

Alright another great session with Jett. Sitting well, staying on command, also now walking nice on lead and starting to work on down command, stay and come from a distance.

Jett is a very fast learner. Great work! 👏🏽

Meet Loki. He's a 5 month old Maremma and ever so handsome!

Loki's traits include dog aggressiveness, disobeying commands when he's fixated on something and everything is done in Loki Time, in other words, when he's good and ready 😆

Loki's two sessions have seen improvement with his listening ability and responding better to basic commands.

Welcome aboard Loki. We look forward to your future sessions 🐕‍🦺💙

You may remember our recent post about Belle and her chasing anything with wheels??

Well Belles mum sent us this video! Belle moves away from the mower now and then doesn't once come near it the entire time. Mum is very relieved, to say the least!

We're so thrilled to see results like this and we're so proud of Belle 👏🏽

Beautiful Belle again 🐕‍🦺

When we arrived, Belle's owners were out in the paddocks on the quad. When they realised we were there, they came towards us and Belle was running straight at the quad causing her to almost be run over 😰

This is one of the main reasons Belle's mum reached out to us. She loves to chase anything with wheels!

After a while, Belle understood her assignment. Here she's sitting next to Brett (lead not being held) whilst her mum moves the quad.

This isn't an immediate fix, but with homework, we're confident the wheel chasing will stop for good and Belle will be nice and safe 🛺

Public and dog socialisation were also addressed today with a trip to the shops and park.

Well done today Belle and mum. We're so proud of you both 👏🏽

Little Jet 🐕‍🦺

Not only has Jet grown so much in a 3 weeks, he is also coming along so incredibly well with his lessons! Look at Jet staying whilst his owner moves away from him 😍

Walking your pooch on lead shouldn't be a nightmare.

Common issues when walking your dog can include animal and people aggression, irratic walking, perving and wanting to do their business every 5 metres, and so on. You get our gist of a waking nightmare!

Brett's one on one sessions address all of these issues and will have you on your way to understanding and gaining control of your dog, knowing when to let them be just a dog, waking in all environments (quiet, busy and small etc), following commands and more.

Walking on lead like a gem, progressing to sitting when reaching roads and continuing to build her trust and confidence.

We've loved watching Karma's progression and growth from her few sessions and the effort and dedication from her mummy owner 👏🏽

Today was cuteness overload!

Mylo is a 7 month old Spoodle and just look at that face!

Cheeky little Mylo like to go pe**ee and poopoo inside (because it's way more luxurious right?), tormenting his cat sibling, nipping people and pretending he can't hear his mum calling him. He's also not super keen on strangers and other animals.

Mylo's first session with Brett saw him take a big pe**ee outside and also showed positive signs of heading towards behaviour rectification!

This cutest little 8wk old Blue Heeler x Kelpie had his first puppy session today and he made his thoughts about it very clear in the last picture 😅

Mossy displays puppy behaviours such as jumping on people and biting as well as needing work on-lead.

We look forward to watching this little cutie grow and develop 🐶

Oh lordy! How darn adorable 😍

Gorgeous little Jet is a 16 week old Rottweiler x Boxer that is displaying lots of common puppy behaviours such as biting people, jumping on people and biting his lead when it's placed on him.

For his first session we worked on correcting these behaviours as well as lead work and advancing the toilet training that Jets owner has already commenced with him by introducing positive reinforcement.

Jet adapted so well to his first session and showed signs of ceasing biting and jumping, however it will require ongoing consistency to cease this behaviour permanently.

How lucky to be able to work with this little bundle of adorable-ness!!! 🐶

Distance control 🐕‍🦺

A must have skill for any canine! Distance control provides a canine the ability to follow hand or verbal commands from any distance away from their owner off lead. This also gives the canines owner more control in any given situation.

Distance control is touched on at the end of your basic obedience sessions and taught as a component in our advanced obedience sessions.

Session #2 with Karma! 🐶🐶

We've noticed such an improvement with Karma's anxiety and her walking on lead which is great news!

With Karma, we've had to change tactics to some trusty, old school methods because she isn't driven by anything, and we mean anything. Food, toys, she's having none of it 😂 however she's responded really well to her customised training plan and we can't wait for her upcoming sessions 👏🏽

And we're back for session #2 with beautiful Belle and WOW what a change in just a week! 😍

Belle's mum was very concerned about walking Belle on lead prior to now because she would get way way too excited, jump around and constantly pull on the lead.

With some daily homework from mum over the week and Brett's sessions, both mum and Belle can enjoy a glorious walk and are looking forward to making walks a regular occurrence.

Brett started a little introduction to off lead obedience with Belle and we can't wait until session #3 👏🏽

Karma in action 🎬

You can see in the first picture her thoughts on walking on lead! She was not a fan! However after Brett working his magic, she became more comfortable so we hit the streets.

Dog aggression was worked on at the neighbours fence then it was over to Karma's owner for her turn. They both did amazing! 👏🏽

Karma needs lots of time, love and patience but it will be all so worth it!

To achieve the best out of your dog, you need to work out what drives your dog, be it a chewy, toy, etc. There's no one solution for every dog. They're all very different. In Rockets case, his driving item is garden rocks. Using these allows me the ability to work on focus and marker training with him. The fundamental knowledge and skills for on lead obedience are just some of the things that will be covered in my upcoming Basic Obedience sessions.
