This week has been hard. Our Peachie Girl had a 5 way BOAS surgery. Why?
Well frenchies as much as I adore them have numerous health conditions.. Breeders have focused on short bulky structures with nearly flat noses. In doing this they have compacted their air ways that much they can’t breath, they can’t self regulate their body temperature, they then get heat stroke and can die. They have loose skin like a flap that requires life saving surgery. Peachie has been lucky that we have accommodated all her needs to get her to 6.5 years old. We have sea shells full of water, airconditioning and cooling mats. These guys ain’t for the faint of heart and breeders continue to breed for this look which is cruel and inhumane!
