I'm big on creating body language, and body positioning cues particularly in foundation round yard exercises.... Toby had been through a portion of my program with his owner and we were creating beautiful connection and understanding and making some rather big progress steps.

Fast forward and Toby now has one eye instead of two, so our established communication is only functional when we are in his near side eye.

Toby is doing fantastic, he has adjusted to life so well and we are starting the process of creating new communication systems to help him when we are on his off side.

We are taking our time and allowing Toby to dictate how far we take things. I'm very proud of him in taking on the student and teacher role simultaneously πŸ’“

What a day! My debut western dressage show on IMA SMOOTH BLUE CAT with a score of 81.732 and only our 4th ride together. This stallion needs no introduction and I am very thankful to Leanne for this opportunity. Smoothy is such a dude and I'm so excited to get out there on him again very soon!

My day started with helping Autumn give Fletch his first ride, what a great experience for her to be the first one! Learning the starting process with a harness trained STB is a great way as they have allot of life and work experience already.

The rest of my day involved working with a few young unstarted horses through to older more established horses.
The work insisted of - roundyard work, groundwork: lunging exercises, body control and side pass to the mounting block, basics of haltering, a flying change session and a Bowen treatment.

I love working with such a variety of horses in different stages of training.

Specialising in confidence building for horses and riders.

Equine Focus Horsemanship and Coaching is owned and operated by lifelong horsewoman Jessica Panizza (Bosch). Jessica’s passion for everything equestrian stems from her upbringing with horses, which lead to her dedication to expand her equestrian knowledge. Over the past decade, Jessica has obtained numerous equine related qualifications, including a Diploma in Equine Smart Bowen Therapy, Certificate 3 in Sport Coaching (Equestrian), Coaching General Principles (Australia Sports Commission), Certificate 2 in Equine Industries and Certificate 2 in Agriculture (specialising in horse breeding), along with the completion of an Advanced Course of Horsemanship (California, USA), and courses in relation to equine behaviour, biomechanics and anatomy. Jessica’s equine knowledge combined with her extensive hands on experience uniquely positions her to assist you and your horse throughout your horsemanship journey.

Jessica has participated in multiple clinics with renowned horse trainers from Australia and the United States of America. Her knowledge of various training methods means you and your horse will benefit from a solid foundation, and she can adapt training methods to assist you with any difficulties you encounter. In conjunction with her training experience, Jessica’s background in Equine Smart Bowen Therapy, equine behaviour, biomechanics and anatomy enables her to determine whether your horse’s reactions or resistance to being ridden is influenced by factors besides training issues.

When rider coaching, Jessica will teach you the fundamentals of riding while you learn to work as team with your horse.Jessica concentrates on teaching riders to have an independent seat, soft hands and effective aids, so you and your horse can stride towards increased harmony, relaxation, and impulsion. If you do not own a horse, Equine Focus has school horses available for beginner and intermediate riding lessons.

If you have a specific problem you need assistance with, require general horse training or rider coaching, contact Jessica today to discuss what support you and your horse need to consolidate your relationship and confidence in each other.
