With the last cake done and dusted, this marks the end of our chapter on the Gold Coast 💔

With almost 800 orders in just over a year, GDB reached new heights in the GC and I can’t thank you all enough for your support and kindness along the way.

For now the future is uncertain for us with the move to Melbourne coming up next week but that isn’t to say we are gone forever.

For now I’ll be focusing on my dog training career with and making the most of the incredible opportunity they have given me.

If and when I choose to reopen, I’ll definitely keep you all updated via socials but for now, from myself, Goose, Stevie and Max, bye for now and give all your good boys and girls big cuddles from us all! 💕💕💕

To all our wonderful customers and their good boys and girls 💕

Since we opened here in the Gold Coast at the beginning of last year, we have been fortunate enough to help over 750 dogs, and their owners, celebrate birthdays and special occasions with our cakes and tasty treats.

The business, however, was never intended to be long term. My passion has always been working with animals and it is now time to take the next step in my career.

As some of you may know, last year I undertook formal studies with the National dog trainers federation and have since accepted a job opportunity within the dog training industry in Melbourne.

The Good Dog Bakery will continue to run until I move to Victoria in early August. All current bookings will be fulfilled and we still have few spaces left this month for orders.

As for the future of GDB, I can’t say for certain. Right now my focus is on my next adventure but I will be sure to keep you updated should we decide to re-open in Melbourne.

I cannot thank enough each and every one of you who have placed an order with us and shared photos of your pups enjoying their treats. They genuinely made the late nights and early mornings of baking all worthwhile!

The goal of GDB was always to bring happiness to the lives of both dogs and their owners and I hope that my little business has helped play a small part in that.

Where do I even start with this custom cake? When Hudson’s lovely mumma asked for a two tier, under the sea/beach theme I was so excited and I’m obsessed with how it turned out 😍

Ok so let’s break it down... Hudson’s cake features:
🌴 decorated beachy themed cookies including the cutest flying seagull (Hudson’s fave!)

🌊 Edible waves hand crafted out of rice paper

🐠 hand cut and decorated sea creature biccie

🧜‍♀️ Adorable hand made mermaid tails, pearl, coral and barnacle homemade dog friendly fondant details

🐚 carob and yoghurt shells and hand piped sea grass and coral to tie it all together!

Our Jurassic Bark cake is perfect for the little dinosaur of your family 🦖

We first made this cake back in 2020 for gorgeous girl Thea, affectionately known by her mum as Theasaurus!

Thea was one of our very first customers and the sweetest girl. I was also lucky enough to work with Thea during my time at one of Townsvilles doggy daycares, so this little lady held a special place in my heart too 💕

Unfortunately, our gorgeous girl Thea recently passed away unexpectedly. In her memory we will be donating proceeds from every Jurassic Bark cake sold to the nominated charity of her mumma, Townsville Foster and Rehoming 🐾

We hope that as many pups as possible can be as happy as sweet Thea was on her birthday 💕
