Q & A time 🐶 💛💚 Pumpkin seeds are an extremely effective deworming agentbecause they contain an amino acid called cucurbitacin. Grind the seeds in a spice grinder or blender before feeding – otherwise they will not be digested properly. Linseed gives more fibre into dogs diet and improves their digestive process and boost their overall health. Helps restore thirst and urination regularity. Linseed is a rich source of soluble and insoluble fiber, which can help regulate your dog’s digestion. A healthy digestive system can help expel parasites naturally. The fiber in linseed may help improve bowel movements, assisting in flushing out parasites that reside in the intestines.

Kibble with high-fat content, poor ingredients, or excessive carbohydrates can contribute to the development of pancreatitis. It's important to choose high-quality, food to avoid health issues. Here are some aspects of kibble contributes to the condition:
Quality of Ingredients: Some lower-quality kibble may be high in fats or cheap fillers, such as corn, wheat, or soy, that aren't ideal for digestion. This can strain the pancreas, especially in dogs that are already prone to pancreatitis.
High Carbohydrate Content: Some kibble contains high levels of carbohydrates, including grains and starches, which are often used as cheap fillers. These carbohydrates can cause an increase in insulin production, putting additional stress on the pancreas. However, high carbohydrates are less directly related to pancreatitis than high fat.
Fat Content in Some Kibble: Some brands use fats as an ingredient for flavor or as a protein source. High-fat kibble potentially contributes to the development of pancreatitis, especially if fed in large amounts or if the dog is predisposed to the condition.
Feeding Habits: Overfeeding or sudden dietary changes, including switching to a new type of kibble too quickly, can stress the pancreas. Feeding too much kibble at once, especially for dogs who have already been diagnosed with pancreatitis, can be harmful.
Consider Fresh Food: If you’re concerned about kibble contributing to pancreatitis, you might want to consider fresh, home-made meals made with high-quality ingredients. Fresh food diets can sometimes be gentler on the pancreas, as they contain fewer fillers and preservatives, and fat content can be more controlled.

Eggs can be a nutritious addition to your dog's diet, offering several health benefits when fed in moderation.
👉🏻High-Quality Protein-Eggs are a great source of high-quality protein, which is essential for building and maintaining muscle, repairing tissues, and supporting overall growth and development. Protein also plays a vital role in the production of enzymes and hormones.
👉🏻Rich in Amino Acids-Eggs contain all nine essential amino acids, making them a complete protein source. These amino acids are crucial for various bodily functions, such as immune system support, tissue repair, and the production of neurotransmitters.
👉🏻Good for Coat and Skin Health-The biotin and fatty acids in eggs can promote a shiny, healthy coat and help maintain your dog's skin health. Biotin is often used in dog foods aimed at improving coat quality, and eggs provide a natural source of this vitamin.
👉🏻Packed with Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamin A: Supports vision, skin health, and immune function.
Vitamin B12: Helps with red blood cell formation and nerve health.
Riboflavin (B2): Aids in energy production and cellular function.
Iron: Important for transporting oxygen in the blood.
Selenium: An antioxidant that supports immune health.
👉🏻Omega-3 Fatty Acids=Eggs, particularly those from chickens fed an omega-3-rich diet (such as flaxseed or fish oil), can provide beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. These fats support brain health, reduce inflammation, and help maintain a healthy coat.
👉🏻 Supports Bone Health-Eggs contain small amounts of calcium, which supports strong bones and teeth.
👉🏻 Improves Appetite-Some dogs can be picky eaters, and eggs can help entice them to eat. The tasty, soft texture of scrambled or boiled eggs might appeal to dogs who are hesitant about their regular food.
Tips for Feeding Eggs to Dogs:
Always cook eggs before feeding them to your dog to avoid the risk of Salmonella or biotin deficiency caused by raw egg whites.

There are several reasons why dogs should generally avoid dairy:
1. Lactose Intolerance-Most adult dogs are lactose intolerant, meaning they lack sufficient amounts of lactase, the enzyme that breaks down lactose (the sugar in milk). Without lactase, lactose stays undigested in the gut, leading to gastrointestinal problems such as:
Diarrhea, Gas, Bloating,Stomach cramps
While some puppies can digest their mother's milk because they produce more lactase, this ability diminishes as they age.
2. Digestive Issues-Even for dogs who can tolerate small amounts of dairy, consuming too much can still cause digestive upset. Milk and other dairy products, especially those high in fat like cheese or cream, can be hard on a dog's stomach and lead to symptoms like: Vomiting, Loose stools, Constipation (in some cases)
3. High Fat Content-Dairy products, especially cheese and cream, are high in fat. Regular consumption of fatty foods can: Contribute to obesity if fed in excess
Increase the risk of developing pancreatitis, an inflammation of the pancreas that can be life-threatening
Lead to digestive distress, as dogs' systems are not designed to handle large amounts of fat
4. Potential for Allergies
Some dogs are allergic to the proteins found in milk and dairy, like casein or whey. Allergic reactions to dairy can manifest as:
Skin rashes, Itchy ears, Ear infections, Hives, Swelling of the face or lips
5. Potential for Lactose-Free Products to Still Cause Issues-While lactose-free dairy products are available, they can still contain other ingredients that might cause problems for dogs, such as higher fat content, added sugars, or artificial sweeteners (like xylitol, which is toxic to dogs).
6. Nutrient Imbalance- Dogs have different nutritional requirements than humans, and providing too much dairy can interfere with their balanced diet. 7. Pancreatitis Risk-For some dogs, especially those prone to pancreatitis, consuming high-fat foods like dairy can trigger an episode. Pancreatitis is a serious condition where pancreas becomes inflamed.

Early neutering is a topic of debate in veterinary medicine, with research showing potential risks and downsides. Early neutering can interfere with normal development of bones and joints. In particular increase risk of orthopaedic issues, such as hip dysplasia and cranial cruciate ligament injuries. Early spay impacts hormones which can impact behaviour ( aggression, fearfulness), metabolism and overall health. Even Cushing disease has been linked to early neutering. Some studies suggest that increase risk of certain cancer like osteosarcoma or prostate cancer. Some veterinarians recommended waiting until a dog reaches physical and emotional maturity , usually between 18-24 months especially in larger breeds. This allows for more complete development reducing the risks associated with early neutering.

Bone broth for dogs is a great source of collagen, glucosamine, protein, and amino acids like glycine. All of which contribute to your pups living a long and happy life. Specifically, collagen can improve your dog's mobility, skin, coat, and digestion. Glucosamine can improve joint health and help slow the progress of arthritis. Finally, protein and glycine build your dogs muscular strength and prevent the breakdown of muscular tissue.
Bone broth can also be helpful for dogs with digestion issues or upset stomach. First, it provides great hydration and second, it will get your dogs gastrointestinal tract working properly following a sickness.

Intermittent fasting can offer several benefits for dogs when done safely and appropriately, based on their individual health needs. This feeding strategy mimics the natural eating patterns of wild canines, who often go through periods without food. Fasting gives a dog’s digestive system time to rest and recover, reducing strain on the stomach and intestines. It can also promote more efficient digestion and nutrient absorption. During fasting, the body shifts its focus from digesting food to eliminating toxins and repairing cells. This can help reduce inflammation and support overall health. Intermittent fasting can help dogs maintain a healthy weight by reducing overall calorie intake and improving metabolic efficiency. It’s especially beneficial for overweight or obese dogs under veterinary supervision. Fasting can help stabilize blood sugar levels, leading to improved energy and reduced lethargy. By burning fat for energy during fasting periods, dogs may experience sustained vitality.Fasting promotes autophagy, a cellular process where damaged or old cells are cleared out. This can reduce the risk of chronic conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and autoimmune diseases.Fasting helps regulate insulin production, which can prevent insulin resistance—a precursor to diabetes. This is especially useful for dogs prone to metabolic disorders. Fasting can encourage natural foraging instincts, keeping a dog mentally engaged. Hunger periods also reset their food-related behaviors, potentially reducing begging or overeating tendencies.

Important Considerations -Not for Puppies or Sick Dogs.

Parsley it’s packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that offer numerous health benefits, especially for dogs with bad breath or digestive issues. Parsley has a natural deodorizing effect, which can help reduce bad breath in dogs. This is due to chlorophyll, a compound that has antibacterial properties and neutralizes odors.Parsley is high in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as essential minerals like iron and folate. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant, vitamin A supports eye health, and vitamin K is essential for blood clotting.Parsley contains apigenin, a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compound. This can help reduce inflammation and may be especially beneficial for dogs with arthritis or other inflammatory conditions. The antioxidants and vitamins in parsley help support a strong immune system. Vitamin C and flavonoids can assist in fighting off infections and protecting against cellular damage. Parsley has mild diuretic properties, which can support kidney function and help flush out toxins. However, it’s essential to use caution and consult with a canine nutritionist or naturopath before adding it regularly, especially for dogs with kidney issues. Parsley can support digestion, reduce gas, and ease upset stomachs. It’s a gentle herb that can assist with occasional digestive discomfort.
