These little guys get fed a mixture of food scraps, cardboard and sawdust to keep the balance right. They're tucked away out of the sun to help regulate their temperature. When they're happy they can churn through the food, turning it onto food for the soil ♻️

This weekend we said goodbye to our original Miami Compost Hub site.

Thanks to all of our epic team who showed up to help on moving day (there's a few missing in this photo) 🙏🙏

We're sad to be leaving but we have grown out of this space and we're excited to be making new connections and opening new sites VERY SOON!

We can't wait to invite you to our new Hub opening day and show you what we've been working on.

Introducing our Fabric Recovery Project - Sew the Seed.
We're aiming to keep fabric out of landfill and repurpose it into new products!
If you know your way around a sewing machine or you're just keen to learn, help with cutting out and be involved in a great community project, this is the place for you.
The next meet up will be Thursday 18th January at 1pm at the Burleigh Anglican Church Hall.

Spot the solar panels? We were lucky enough to be successful in the Community Fund!

This means we're 100% solar powered at our Miami Compost Hub. We've been lucky enough to be able to purchase solar panels and a battery pack that power our forced aeration composting systems.

Aerating our piles means we don't have to turn the compost as much, and while we love a good workout, we're pretty happy to save the labour for other jobs! A HUGE thanks to for saving our backs while we save emissions ♻️
