This is a follow-up on a post that was made in April. With the use of BLUE TED we have been able to get this bad seedy toe to grow out. Our next trim will remove the last of it. This seedy toe was ¾ of the way up the inside of the wall with a crack about ⅓ of the way up and now it is a hole only 2mm deep.

BARE FOOT HORSES
As you can see the crack that was treated with BLUE TED is not a very open crack, yet the treatment has clearly been absorbed. BLUE TED has stopped any bacteria and fungus from taking hold and causing it to be eaten out by seedy toe, this has prevented the crack from becoming a big issue.
For this treatment the crack was cleared of mud and the BLUE TED was injected into the void, no further treatments were done between the trims (7 weeks). The client also informed me that this horse uses a dam for drinking water and is often found wading in the dam.

BLUE TED has helped to maintain the integrity of this scar, when I first started to shoe this horse the scar was open and always had a big seedy toe hole behind it. Now with the use of BLUE TED each shoeing this crack is always looking tight and strong.

After 8 weeks there is still BLUE TED in this old seedy toe under the shoe thats growing out nicely. This horse lives in a paddock that is quite wet with all this rain and uses a dam for drinking water so it was nice to see the BLUE TED still present doing its job. I cleaned it out to make sure there wasn't any traces further up but I could clearly see the bottom of the hole.

Does your horse's hooves have a crack, seperation, scar, old abscess hole or any other place for bacteria to grow, then you need BLUE TED.
If used on these areas early you could prevent it from becoming a big area to treat for a prolonged period.

This foot had an abscess that busted at the coronet band, you can see in the second picture that the BLUE TED has been absorbed into the hoof, this has helped to prevent the bacteria, from dam mud and standing in urine, continuing to undermine the integrity of the hoof, as you can see the bottom of the abscess caverty. In this case the BLUE TED is reaplied under the new shoe.
