Campbells Ike. (Riana Max/Paddys Elkie)

This is Ike sitting on the verandah at our home on the Liverpool Plains near Quirindi. Chris Campbell bred a lot of cream dogs. On this occasion he visited us and gave me two cream pups, Ike and Roy. His dogs always had nice dark pigmentation and were great types in the Riana tradition. Ike went back to live with Chris later and Roy ended up with Nick Anderson of Cullinga Kelpies. Riana Leo in the sheep yards of Cavan station at crutching time. A property running up to 35000 sheep. Leo was a son of Riana Banker and out of Opal. He was purchased from Victor and Arthur Hazlett and was an amazing clever and stylish worker who would work himself to exhaustion. Good in the paddock and yards, Leo worked with me at Windy Station, Cavan station and contracting for several years. He was sold to live out his retirement with Bill Davis of the Santolina stud in California. Leo was prolific in siring some amazing progeny for myself and several other breeders

Bamba Sid and Flash. Note the very light cream carried on from there mother Riana Jasmine. Jasmine was purchased from Arthur Hazlett and later sold to Chris Campbell of Campbells Kelpies. Chris and I traded and swapped many dogs over the years.

This dog reminds me of many of the good Riana dogs I’ve had over the years. Very careful in his work and doesn’t move any more than necessary. Comes in to move the sheep then takes the pressure off. The sort of dog I really like. He reminds me of Riana Leo who used to sit around the house no fuss and great with kids but when he goes to work he’s all business.

For the second night in a row I have come home and the male pup I have from the Harry Minni litter has opened the latch on his kennel and is running around the house yard. Only one other dog I’ve owned has done that and that was Falcon Ash and she was super smart. Clever and good looking. Let’s hope he lives up to expectation

Bamba Fizz out for a morning stroll basic command work. What a beautiful type and temperament bitch. Never crossing the line of my feet and waiting for instruction. Early days but signs of all the traits I like
