Fun Saturday reel
When the dog loves his groomer! 😜 more than his owner
Heartbreaking groom
WARNING TISSUES REQUIRED:
Today was the hardest day. It’s the worst part of dog grooming and it never gets easier. This is my Sammy having his last ever groom before he gains his wings on Thursday. I’ve lost 6 clients this year alone and when I’ve had the honour of giving them their last groom yes I’ve cried like a baby just like I did in this. It’s the worst part of being a dog groomer! You’re never ready to see them fly. I love all the dogs I groom like my own. But yes Sammys mine and it was extremely hard to accept this would be his last ever groom. He loves his grooms and lays down through them all and loves the dryer on his neck and chest the most
Pippa home from her walk 2012.
Today we say run free over the rainbow bridge 🌈 to Pippa . Our thoughts are with her owner Judy . We will miss her cuddles on the couch
It so hard to get gratitude sometimes 😂 Dottie just wants the door open now she’s groomed and wants to leave! 😂

“ Dryer induced seizures”
Have you heard of a dryer induced seizure?
Theses seizures happen to our senior dogs and happen suddenly and without warning!
They are brought on when a dog is being dried with a force dryer and start with whining followed closely by repeated barking. If you don’t read the body languages or know what to look for then from the repeat barking is a full blown seizure induced dog that will collapse on the table and shake uncontrollably til they come round .
Now it’s a fine line to read what’s happening in front of you and like this our Sammy is now 16 yrs old and never had an issue with the dryer …. until today!
I hand dried with a towel and brought him to the drying table from the bath and turned on the dryer and started to dry his back leg . Within 30 seconds I noticed him breathing heavy under stress but continued and watched closely. As I got to the top of his leg we had the first bark! and I then decided to turn the dryer off.
He within 5 seconds went into a full on seizure shaking and bit his tongue that started to bleed.
At this point all you can do for them is hold them and talk calmly til they come back round out of it. I quickly wrapped him in a dry towel and removed him from the table into my arms and spoke softly whilst supporting his head as he thrashed around.
This video shows you him at the 3 minute mark( it did go longer than expected )where he is coming out of the seizure and is a little confused as to what just happened.
It’s reassuring to know that when a dog comes out of this , they pretty much act like nothing happened and seem their normal self again.
We have recently had about 8 senior dogs that we have been grooming for 10 years or more now start to show these seizures when being groomed at the salon.
“What can we do for these dogs? “ you ask. Well we make a note in our files that these dogs just have to be washed and dried on warmer days from now on , because we re
When the poodle you spent 3 hrs grooming loves her groom so much ,she does a happy dance!
Just a little bonding time with my boy before we go to comp one last time
